I guess I got one vote for the shortshifter... I'm not too convinced.

Why do you feel that you need wheel spacers? Are you getting larger tires?

I voted for the shortshifter. To me, it's no contest.

Just wanted a beefier but stock look. Trying to stay clean with not too much bling but you can tell it's fixed up!

the shortshifter actually has something useful to it.... makes shifting nicer and can be slightly quicker...

But the wheel spacers ad a larger wheel base for wheeling and it looks good?

    What do you all think?

wheel spacers lead to problems, bottom line, i know this first hand as i have had nothing but problems ever since i put them on. They came off after 2 weeks. Also, you will rub more than you do now with spacers, believe it or not.

pretty much, dont buy wheelspacers. Our studs are so short they are dangerous, if you are doing anything down there, send your hubs in to get re-studded with AT LEASTE 2" studs..

OK, so stay away from the wheel spacers if you don't want problems. Have you used the spider tracks? Will i notice more rubbing if i am using stock wheels and 265/75/16 only???
    Thanks

I didnt run spidertrax, i ran the ones from JTS diffs, same thing basically, only the spidertrax are hub-centric and mine were lug-centric, but regardless, you are putting more leverage on everything, as well as creating a weak point.

if you want a wider track, get less backspaced wheels

yes, There is really no performance gain with them, a little more stability, but the amount of + change is not worth the negative effects.

Narrower tracks are often perferred on the trail also for those tight spots

You pretty much talked me out of it. I think I will just go with a short shifter instead. Thanks.

    I'd personally suggest the Shortshifter.

As far as the spacer's go, I'm running the spidertrax on all fours. ABSOLUTELY no problems because I didn't go the cheap route. Spidertrax do not use your existing wheel studs for the wheel. Rather, your wheel studs are used to hold on the spidertrax spacer, the spidertrax spacer has it's own set up wheel studs (eliminating the problem of a short stud). Because they're hub centric, they better distribute the load from wheel/tire to your drivetrain.

In short: if you choose spacers, only get spidertrax.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but.. you might regret putting wheel spacers on the first time you get it off road and fully articulate the rear axle. More then likely you would end up ripping a fender flare off (stock flares) if you run plus size tires. As my truck stands with stock wheels, and 265/75R-16 tires, the flares are very close to the sidewall at full atric. Just some food for thought.

Anyways I am all for the URD shifter. I've been wanting to do this mod myself for a while, but I have not had the extra money to throw at it.
