Sliders, which is the best bang for your buck?

Looking to get some sliders very shortly. I want a weld on slider, something that will be useful offroad but i don't want to spend an arm and a leg. I've searched.

Who's got a weld on slider that doesn't break the bank?

 

This has been gone over time and time again TG has the cheapest ones from what I can tell but a hybrid design is the strongest. Shipping is the killer on sliders if you can find a local fabricator that would be your best route.

 

avid has some pretty good prices, i know they offer some type of tw discount. give em a call.

 

Local seems to be cheapest. I had mine made local for $140.

 

Def go local, I had mine fabbed up for $120 and they are bomb proof, that includes having them powdercoated. I'll post pics

 

I've got a local fabricator but am wondering if there are and CAD drawings or plans that are available to him so that he doesn't have to measure my truck- just to make it easier/cheaper. So, are there any for a DCLB that anyone is willing to share?

I build my DCLB sliders 94" long. No CAD drawings I do my bends in Bend Tech but that's about it.

 

I'd go 80" on the straight back piece, 84" on the piece you are planning on bending in at a 45 degree angle, bend it at the 6.5-7" mark, then the rest is easy from there man. I did bolt on to the existing OEM holes for running boards. Turned out great

probably becuase the long bed has a longer wheel base hence the 94 inches. u have a shortbed which 80 inches is optimal for since u have a shorter wheel base.

The OP would be correct for shortbed.

Dude you have a DC Short bed! the OP has Long Bed they will be too short if he go 80"

 

Heres the deal, I never wheel it, they are mostly for looks as are 80% of the people on here, and they will do just fine driving on the paved road ha

LOL those don't look too short for a 2nd Gen the pinch weld get larger at the fenders so to get them all the way to the ends of the fenders you will have to notch the pinch weld or have them hang down about 1.5" from the body.

 

Your sliders look great man the length is fine for a 2nd Gen that's how my 2nd Gen sliders set as well. As for 1st Gens we can go all the way to the fenders with no issues.
