Hey man, I grew up in Fairport. Whitney Farms, right next to Fellows Road Park! Mom is still in the same house in Winnermere Cir. I graduated from McQuaid in '84, but did all my partying in Fairport.

Where in Fairport are you?

 

Took it in for the leaf spring, squeaky clutch pedal, and blower motor TSBs. Blower motor is now quiet and the new leafs are on order.

Apparently my VIN is not covered by the TSB for the clutch pedal even though it sounds like an old wood floor when its warm weather. Even though they wouldn't do the work they did say if I could duplicate the situation they would contact Toyota on my behalf to see if it could be covered.

 

caught some guy with an F150 checking it out on my way out of chipotle, got to talking and he said my truck has pretty much sold him on the upgrade. even F150 owners are out there admitting Taco's are an upgrade

also changed the oil and filter.

paint finally dried on the grill and i mounted it. Thanks to HomerTaco for the pre-cut mesh.

all is left is to wait for the paint to fully cure. and out with the polisher.

Carpeted the back of the rear seats and up the front of the storage compartments so the dog can run around in the back without being on the seats

 

washed it and filled it up

 

changed plugs.

 

Removed the 'goodbye axle wrap' mod. Now the rear end is back to its normal slappy self.

Unfortunately on a 2nd gen by pulling the overload leaf the way it does it throws off the driveshaft angle. I was getting vibration from it that disappeared again as soon as they came off.

Too bad too, those springs made it a dream to shift and drive in comparison. Must be similar to what a new leaf pack would feel like.

^^^woah, those are are lot lower-profile than I imagined.

If you rotate the loose black plunger that goes down to the master cylinder plunger back and forth a bunch of times it'll spread the lube around and it'll be quiet for a couple months. Literally a 5 second fix

Mine is absolutely terrible for this. The dealer tech had that thing ALL apart trying to make it stop creaking like Michael Jackson's Thriller. Found someone on here who suggested this and whammo - silence!
