Reprogramming remote control

Is there a way to reprogram the wireless remote control key so it does not beep when locking and unlocking my 2011 Tacoma? I did a search and only found programming a new key to the truck.

open driver door
insert key into ign
remove from ign
within 5 seconds reinsert key and turn ign switch on
after 10 seconds MAY give you an answer back buzzer
within 10 seconds after that hit a transmitter button twice to change the setting.

I did not get an answer back after 10 seconds but it does work.

The beep is canceled out with this procedure No box has to be removed.
He said BEEP NOT HONK !!!!!!!!!

Look at my truck on the left. Look at the year. Look under for my mods and it specifically says
Disable fob beep !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

No honk, just the beep. Sounds like the programming steps only work with the honk?

Fact is i have never and would never claim to know everything, the great thing about my job is always learning, and if i dont know, i take the time to find out the facts!

never researched that one, but like i said i have never seen anyway with our systems to adjust the threashold like you asked, but you should check with whipper, he seems to really know his shit lately.

So I take it only 09 and after tacos are equipped with the beep? I got an 07 and it appears the previous owner disabled a lot of stuff. I don't mind some of the things he disabled like the seat belt chime, but I'd kinda like to have the beep when I lock/unlock the doors.

 

Sure is

NO you can't and won't be able to change the threshold.
It either has to come programmed from the factory in a new ecu or have a program added to our computers to flash the ecu. It would not be programmable for us you can be assured of that.
Toyota will never allow ANYONE including field techs to be able to program by themselves a brake system or any related yaw rate sensor etc. Ain't gonna happen.
I can imagine the can of worms that would start.

Wow, someone tries to stand up to this idiot whipper and this is the response i get? dont worry, when you guys need help on here you can feel free to ask whipper what he would do.
