Adjusting 5100's on truck?

Just installed the 5100's at 1.75 an dhave the famous vibration, had it aligned twice, wondering if anyone has tried to drop the 5100's on the truck to .85 or even stock hieght. I did noitice that there wasn't much preload at all when i installalled the stock springs on the 5100's. I f i take two spring compressors and compress them a tad with no weight on front end i wondering if i can sneak the c-clip out and lower it to .85 or stock hieght.....just a thought!! and much less work for me!!

i just ordered a set and this is the first i have heard of vibration issues??

 

Its not the shocks, 5100's are awesome, its when you lift these trucks, 9 out of ten people complain of drivetrain vibration. I just pulled those numbers out of my ass but do a search in Suspension (vibration lift) Tons to read. I'm just going to go back to stock or maybe .85 lift if the vibe is gone. Either way the 5100's are an awesome ride compared to the stock trd ones. Even with the diff drop/ and with out it vibrates at 35-50 and feels like a wheel bearing a gone. I reaplaced both bearings last week so i know its the famous vaib at everyone on here talk about. Do yourself a favor and just do a search so you know what you may be up for!! Good luck.

 

is this vibration something that occurs with the toytec coilovers as well?

i noticed that after getting rid of my factory dunlops and getting a heavier more agressive tire that i have vibrations getting on the highway. but once i'm over 60 they are gone.

 

Has anyone installed 5100's to help the weak rear end and noticed an improvement?

 

U talking about the tsb? Just go get the tsb done. I did. But imma soon add new billys in the rear too

 

well just finished. Set my 5100's from 1.75 to stock ride hieght and truck is perfect!! No vibration at all, im just going to leave it like that, it still looks good....rear TSB leafs, 5100's all around and 265/75-16 DONE. Im not touching the drivetrain on these trucks!! Ive lifted every truck i have ever owned, this is the smallest lift i have done and the most problems(Vibrations) These trucks arn't meant to lift....just drive a million miles!! Lesson learned

Oh and no you cant adjust them on truck i have to remove.

 

Most likely its the BFG's. I just had a fun time with Americas Tire company, and they ended up replacing two tires. My vibs are gone now. I had one tire that required 9 weights just to balance it.
