Was taking my dinner break this evening. Had the green light, was turning left and out of no where, this lady runs the red light and slams into my drivers side engine area. Truck looks totaled but will have to see what pans out.

I miss my baby taco, it's the best truck I have ever owned. I am ok thankfully. The lady who hit me was cited and appears to be ok as well. We both, were shaken up pretty good.

For what the Tacoma is worth, I am very impressed as to how well it took the impact. Goes to show our Tacomas are built very well. Here are some pics, not too good but all I have. I had no time to react and she had to have been going at least 40mph when she hit me.

As you can see by the last pic, it looks like a rear end collision into her car, but somehow after she hit my drivers side engine area; that is how both our vehicles ended up.

this is the only pic i have showing her car, hard to see but her front end is done and she got a flat as well in the right rear.

she did get a bloody nose out of it, think she hit her steering wheel during the crash. as far as i know, no other injuries. she was a bit confused as well as to whether the light was actually red.

several witnesses saw i had the green light. wonder if she was talking on her cell phone or texting and not paying attention.

Glad you are ok, so many accidents happen because other people are so busy doing other things than driving. Hmmmmm a woman........who would figure? I'm sorry for the RESPONSIBLE lady drivers out there for that comment.

Sorry man!:(. I hope your are ok! Take some pain meds if you have some pain. At 40mph, you will have some pain. You never know when something is going to happen, again I'm glad you are ok.

well, really can't tell if it was 40mph or not, but the speed limit on that road is 45. will be able to tell tomorrow but think i will go get checked out by my dr, just in case.

the impact didn't feel that bad (thumbs up for all the strong tacomas!) and maybe she was going slower but who knows, might have to see what the investigation shows.
