Bilstein settings

Have a set on order. What is everyone running for height setting on these shocks??

i don't want it to ride to rough but i think i'm going to try the 2.5 setting with an 1.5 AAL in the rear.

any pictures or suggetions are appreciated.

It totally depends on what size tire you are wanting to run.

With 285s I would set them to 2.5 as you have to I think?

With 265s I would set them to 1.75 (nothing looks worse than too much lift for too small of tires)

I kept my TRD Off-road wheels and have BF All-Terrain 265/75/16s. I have the rear TSB and am getting my Bilsteins set at 1.75 and put on this thursday 2/19/09.

 

right now i have bfg muds that are a goofy 255/65/17 size. got them dirt cheap brand new.

 

those new tires are are a little smaller than the stockys. skip the aal and set the 51's at stock

 

how do you adjust them?

 

remove wheel and coilover and take co to a suspension shop

 

When I have some spare cash Ima get the 5100s set at 2.5 and the toytec AAL with the 265/75/16s I have on there now. Once I get more money I will do the 885 coils and UCAs

 

Here I am @ 1.75" running 265/75/16's. In my opinion, this is how our trucks should come from the factory. (or at least when ordering the offroad package )

 

What about .85"? You're missing an option.

 

hey Kropper, have you had the rear leaf spring TSB performed on your truck?

 

No I haven't, and the previous owner didn't either. I really haven't seen a need for it. Maybe I'm missing something??

 

I have the same truck and got the TSB done a week ago. It raised the back end up because of the added leaf. The truck handles much better than before and it does ride stiffer which I like. I had a 86 Toyota truck and a 95 Tacoma and the leaf springs broke on both of those trucks. The 3 leaf pack just isn't adequate for our trucks. Check out my photo of my truck pulling a trailer with a atv, and another atv also in the bed. It's sagging; and my daughters atv only weighs 250 pounds. You won't regret having the TSB done.

 

2.5 with TSB.

 

adjustability is pretty easy if you have a spring compressor.. there is a snap ring in the bottom of the shock and a collar sits on top of the snap ring.. three settings.. Done

 

2.5" on the Billies, Pro-Comp AAL...No TSB, Stock UCA's, 285 KM2 Muddahz. 09' Sport. Lil' Wobble in the steering at 45MPH...Balnced em' 3 times. 3rd time was the charm. Truck rocks. No wandering, no vibrating, no wierdo shit.

 

2.5,stock rear 4-leaf pack,1.5" Toytec blocks,265/70/17's.

I had an oppourtunity to do mine but after measuring and since my truck dosent carry anything heavier than 225 Lbs of KTM 300?

I didnt see the need and didnt want to chance any driveline vibes!!
