    They most likely had the hilux in a container with the engine out and passed it ass a parts car. I know that's pretty common because there is no supposed intention of driving it. One of the many loop holes in the grey market industry.

    Fuck EPA. They are SOOO worried about diesel coming here, when now there are SO many cars and trucks running WITHOUT catalytic converters AND passing emissions, how retarded? I know I was one of those cars. 2.5L Turbo with 3" cutout under passenger seat..lol

    Diesel would be awesome 16-20mpg no matter how much load you haul or how much you tow, unlike 10mpg when you tow with the v6...

    true but when it comes to insurance the vin computers dont get it because its a strange number that doesnt match up. DMV computers kick it out and that where the other problem lies also.

    IMO i dont think it has anything to do with the EPA personally. I think its more of the big three lobbying in washington to keep the hilux and other not just toyota out of the market so the big three have a fighting chance.

    It bad when you see our ARMED forces over in this war fighting and they are using HILUX and not the POS hummer.

    Interesting, after looking at a few threads, some of you guys see the Hilux like it's beyond awesome..i live ~40 mins from Mexico...There's a F**K load of them there. People use them as bakery delivery trucks and taxi cabs... They're not that cool IMO. Maybe cause I see them more frequently than you guys do...?

    lol whenever someone posts something for sale on here without pictures.......within minutes someone is complaining and quoting the rules, warning them that the thread will be locked.... what about the very first sentence of the rules? Why hasn't this thread been moved?

    now i'm not really interested in a diesel.... but the idea of shipping cars, thought i'd share my 2 cents on that....

    i bought my tacoma from a middle easteren guy who buys first gen double cabs from dealer trade in's... then when he has a bunch of them he puts them in a container and ships them over to the middle east. he said that the middle eastern toyota's arnt optioned the same way, and the american tacomas bring in good $$$ there.

    thought it was related somewhat...
