I saw a 2012 tacoma today. Had a front end similar to a 4 runner. Very sharp looking. I was disappointed when I saw nothing else changed other than the front end. Doors and rear stay the same and in my opinion looks odd because the front end and head lights are shap and aggressive while the rear was smooth. It didnt go together. Just my opinion.

I got a 2012 double cab V6 4X4 SR5 two weeks ago. I really like the front end compared to the prior version. Most of the changes are to the inside -- dash, steering wheel, and several new "creature comforts" like bluetooth, usb, autolink mirror, lighted vanity mirrors (and believe me, that is a big feature for me, I noticed that was one of the first things both my wife and daughter checked out when I picked it up). The backup camera display is also larger and has a higher resolution. Not a huge change, but it was enough for me to finally take the plunge.

Needs at least heated mirrors. I can't believe there isn't a leather/heated seat option. With all bells and whistles including leather etc. i could see it being a $40,000 truck, at which point you are better off getting a tundra or f150. I think toyota is charging too much for their tacoma. High resale value isn't important to a person who is going to drive the vehicle into the ground.

The local dealer where I live sends all who request leather to this local place to get Kat skin leather down the street. You can have it customized to any color and the include heat. You pay around $2000 for it to be done which is about the price toyota would charge I'm sure. I was going to get leather if Toyota offered it just for the heated seats (it gets near -30 where I live) but since they don't, no big deal to me.
