LED conversion on every accessible bulb, TRD exhaust (dealership threw in for free along with the Blu-Logic).
Freaking pisses me off, my dealership trying to tell me there is nothing wrong with it. I am going to have to try to remedy that annoying noise myself. To think I bought the premium warranty also, not just the powertrain warranty that came standard. Plus now my passenger window came apart inside and I only have 6000 miles. Makes me feel I made a mistake buying my Taco!

I looked up TYC Genera's webpage and their warranty page states that they warranty their products against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the vehicle the product is purchased for.

Sounds great until you email them and they tell you to take it up with the seller.

Finally picked my truck up tonight. They claim after 2 days of being unable to reproduce the issue..... I told them life is too short and I am done arguing with them...

....10 minutes later, I pull out of the dealer and the crickets are so evident I question the service technician may have been a) hard of hearing, b) playing a game to just eff with me, or c) incompetent.

Left a message with same service manager to call me Monday cause I am regretting buying the truck if this is what the service is going to be like.....

I don't think any of the large parts mfrs (Fed Mogul, Anzo, Continental-Teves, etc.) offer warranties directly to the end user. If you had purchased the TYC fan through Rock Auto, they would've probably handled the return for you. http://www.rockauto.com/docs/warranty.php Amazon isn't structured to sell auto parts effectively.

I had the updated motor installed last March, so is there another update to the updated motor, or just the same one?
    My squeak is back...

Yes there is a new one, I've had mine replaced 5 times in 2.5 years. The last one is a completely new one so hopefully it works this time.

Just had my '09 Tacoma in for service and had asked them about this cricket sound coming from the heater blower and the service department informed me that Toyota has finally got a new motor that finally fixes the sound. If your truck is still under warranty they will replace it for no cost. Hope this new motor truely fixes this problem....

Dealership replaced mine this morning - no questions asked - in stock - new part number on work order. Hope it does the trick.

I know its only been two days but new part so far has no crickets. All fan speeds seem quieter. Seems better than first replacement (old part)... peace and quiet at last (for now).

Well ain't that a bitch! I just took mine apart on Saturday, lubed it, put it back together, and enjoyed silence for about 5 minutes before it started making noise again. I finally had a chance to take it back apart this morning and added more grease. I also used my Dremel to smooth the edges of the brushes and I also stretched the springs to put a little more tension on the brushes. I got it all back together and found the noise even louder. After some fiddling around, I figured out that the two screws that hold the cap on the motor can be turned slightly to adjust the noise level. Here is a short video showing the process and how it effects the sound level. If mine starts chirping again, I'll just have the dealership replace the motor with their new unit.

I'm on my 2nd factory replacement. How much time is involved in this fix? I can't believe they haven't straightened this out at the factory yet.

I just brought my 2011 to get checked out today. The service department told me they came out with a new blower motor 3 days ago and it was different than the original, supposedly will fix the issue. I asked them specifically about them replacing it with the original and they told me the new one would not have this problem, there was a TSB # listed on the service request, not sure if that's new or not. Getting it replaced on Thursday.

Left mine this morning to get a new blower motor (Steering shaft TSB and starting problems too). This will be my second blower motor. I handed them a copy of the new TSB and when the service tech confirmed they were going to change it on the phone I tried to tell him to make sure the part ended in 43 cause I don't want the same old motor.

He did mention that the motors have a 1 year warranty so i feel better that I can replace it again if need be. I'm @ 34,000 miles so getting it just in time :D:cool:

Turns out my batt had a bad cell too, so got a new one....and I'm finally getting the steering shaft tsb done after 3 attempts. Finally took me taking a tech offroad to show him :p

I just had the motor replaced in my 2010 for the fifth time today.... And the one they put in was making noise before I left the parking lot!!!!!! ARGH! Anyone tried this fix on a 2011? I would like to try it, as right now it looks like I'm going to be battling Toyota Canada for any more repairs.....

Mine is a 2011, haven't confirmed if they did it with newest blower, but I'll check when I pick it up later today and check the part # on the order. If you want/need to go back, go with the new TSB (2011). Here it is....

Damn they put the same part as last time for me  the part # that ends in 042 was on the work form when I picked it up (previous part number before New TSB).

Guess I'll be waiting until it clicks again and back to the dealer. I can hear mine veeery slightly clicking already leaving from dealer too. Oh well atleast it ain't bad now, see how long it stays quiet. I hate how some dealers know these things as they come, and some even though I GIVE THEM A COPY OF THE TSB:smack:, guess some don't read well...
