Well, sad news. Yankee Springs has gotten a grader taken to it and there really is no challenge for our vehicles out there. Just took the FJ for a test run and we tried oh so very hard to get it stuck in 2wd and it wasn't possible. Maybe out near twin lakes will show it a harder time?

I am going to try and get the guys from fjcruiserforums to tag along. The one guy in GR has a 2" lift and 33's. Should be fun to see what his rig can do.

Also going to go check out Yankee to see what all this rain has done. Might not get fun until there is a couple inches or more of snow on the trails.

    Muskegon, MI here too.

New owner of a stock 09 DC TRD- OR. Owned it for about 10 months now....Only been to Silver Lake with it so far. Looking for some additional two tracks to experiment on (like the trails off Sweeter Road).

Have you guys run the length of Cooley/ Jenson road in Fruitport? A buddy showed me that but I haven't tried it yet.

    Welcome!

The fj cruiser guys told me about a trail system in Baldwin that is pretty nice. Nothing stock jeeps couldn't get down but still quite scenic. Somewhere around 20 miles long or so he said.

    I'm open as well.

The sooner we get a day set in stone I could try and get the FJ guys to come out as well.

    Norton Shores....

I've only been on Sweeter Rd one time...M-120 east to Sweeter, go through the golf course and the unimproved county road starts......several two tracks off Sweeter into the Manistee National Forest....

Cooley/ Jensen Rd...I took my 01 Jeep XJ about a 1/4 of the way down, got nervous and turned around because I was by myself....it's another unimproved county road and (at least 5 yrs ago) had some deep ruts...

Just got back from blastin around in Yankee Springs. Spent about 2 hours out there. A lot of the area is still smooth (some hillbilly proved that by bombing around in a cavalier.) I found some new trails though that I had to pop into 4wd to get back up. Poor Duncraps loaded up and spun all 4 getting back up the hill. Plenty of fun hilly trails and the ruts are coming back with all the rain we had this last week.
