TPMS

My TPMS light came on the other morning when I started my truck. I had new tires put on 2 weeks ago. I checked all 4 tires and they were all 34-36 PSI. I assumed the spare was low because i've had this same issue last year around this time. So I had the spare filled last night and the light is still on. Any ideas?

 

There is probably another way, but you could try pulling the battery to clear the light.

If it comes back on, it sounds like whoever put your tires on messed up one of the TPMS sensors.

You need to re-set the system. The button is under your steering column

 

Did you reset the system with the TPMS button after you aired up your spare?

 

I've never had to do this before???

 

I was under the impression that the "SET" button was only there to set a new pressure threshold, and not to actually reset the indicator (without changing the preset values)?

Last year when I had the issue with the spare, after the spare was filled the light went off after a couple miles. I've driven well over 50 miles since it was filled last night.

Without a scan tool to read data your flying blind.
If the lamp is not flashing we have to assume the sensors are transmitting and the receiver is receiving.
there can still be an issue with sensors with calibration or temp. IE: pressures at 35 but sending pressure to receiver at 60psi or temp out of range.

The only thing you can do is this.

Set ALL PRESSURES to 30 psi

start truck
wait 30 seconds
hold reset until light goes off then release.

Shut the truck off
Start it back up
see if the light goes out
IF OFF
hit reset again and hold until light flashes 3 times then release.

Let truck run for 7 min.

Shut truck off

reset all pressures to 35

start truck up and drive.
If it stays off your ok

If not take it in to have the data read and diag.
