In a field next to your house, you shot 3 bull elk. GOD DAMN how I hate you!

I trekked up to Hood, spent 3 days hiking about 20 miles, lost my brand new GPS when it slipped out of my pack, lost one of my radios falling into a creek, all to see NOTHING.

You go out and shoot one in a field next to your house. Did you shoot it out the bathroom window while taking your morning constitutional? From the porch taking your coffee maybe?

    lucky SOB....:D

Can I come hunt with you next year???? Congrats! Nice looking bulls.

2011TacoBeav any luck today? I started out in the Wilson unit then I'm sure I ended up in the Trask area. I didn't get sleep when I got off work last night so I was dozing in and out during the car ride while my dad was driving my truck.

Can someone, former military or not, tell me why every time I scope in I always reach for the high firm pistol grip when my rifle clearly doesn't have one? Damn that muscle memory crap!

    My brother and I

Guess how much work we had to do to pack 'em out?

I don't know how I'm going to top this season. So ridiculously easy. I'm hoping to pick up bow hunting. Its kind of a gamble hoping the herd shows up on our place during centerfire season. That month long bow season is real tempting and gives me time to find elk elsewhere, so this herd doesn't get to worn out.

Thank you though. It was a blast. My little bro's first elk and some good family bonding time.

I know how that goes. Came up empty handed last year and no deer for the last two years. I would say sure, but the elk are nowhere near our property now. They dove over a fence and across a road to the neighbor's woods.

Got pulled over on the way to the meatpacking place just cause the cop wanted to check them out lol.

Derek, at least now you could have a new factory rear bumper. I remember the last time I checked out your rig, the rear bumper was the only defective thing on your ride. Get a new one at her expense. Perhaps her dad will have to buy you one. Haha. The 4Runner will be perfect now.

MUCH easier than the last bull I shot. Took us about 3 hours to get it into the truck. It is always fun to hunt with family. This is the first year in about the last 20 years that I did not hunt with my dad.

    Enjoy the elk steaks!

Hey Bobert, went out to Yamhill today..saw herds of cows, no spike+!! Not sure if you're familiar with the Yamhill camp but we went that way passed it. Great hunting area that's for sure.

Yamhill Camp off Old Railroad Grade Rd? If so I'm extremely familiar with that area. My place isn't more than 10-15 minutes from there. Flying M Ranch isn't to far from there and there are elk up there. There's a section of Old Railroad Grade before Yamhill Camp you can hit a 100mph on...gets sketchy feeling real fast.

I've seen a herd off Moores Valley Road before, but only the one time.

Holy shit, I finally was able to view the photos and videos. That looked shitty, those are some impressive rigs

I completely agree, you need to view the photos and videos. I wish the go-pro videos were up, those would be sick to see from inside of the jeeps
