switch tires? What would u do?

Ok I just bought a 2012 DCSB with the trd offroad package so that means I have 16" rims. I have a 4runner which I am going to sell and it has 1.5 year old BFGs, lots of tread left.

Should I switch the tires before I sell the 4runner? Or just leave the new tires? What you guys think?

I'd just have to pay the mounting fees at a tire shop.

 

Definately mount the bfg's.

 

If they are the right size and specs I'd say switch them out. Then the 4Runner your selling will have a brand new set of tires, which should entice potential buyers.

 

im guessing your truck came with rugged fails .... id switch .... hell if the 4 runner has decent rims just swap everything over a lot cheaper imo

 

the rims are beaten and worn. Its a 97.

Shoots, you guys really got me thinking here. Its gonna be a pain to get them swictched but I think I might have to do it.

They are the exact same sized tires.

 

It might be a small hassle but I think it would be worth it to get them switched.

 

I agree with the poster who said to switch both tires and rims from the runner.

 

What kind of BFGs? Didn't the new truck have BFGs?

If the new truck has Rugged Trails, they will last 30K miles but start to get flats around 15K.

If the 4Runner has All Terrain TA's with good tread, then that is probbaly worth switching.

 

yes the 4runner has the BFG all terrains. I'll have to double check exactly how old they are. If its less than 2 years, I'm gonna switch em. I really like those tires.

I say switch em too. The TRD offroad tires look good but apparently their quality is sub-par. BFG's have a good rep.

 

Get rid of the pos rugged fails!. After just 15,000 miles I got rid of mine...didn't trust them on snow/ice. The bfg a/t's last way longer and are a much better tire (have ran around 5 sets of them over the years.)

 

Fees aren't that much depending on where you go

Get rid of the Rugged Fails... they are cheap crappy tires.
