    I'm more inclined to agree with this, though asking for help on what to do next is the only way to learn. Good job to OP for asking a million questions up front instead of having a million problems afterwards ;) I was trying to find.     I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
    Soy oil is not a substitute for gear oil :cool:

    Edit: it seems that you had not enough oil in there. I would replace axle seals just as the precaution. It would suck to put new thrid and loose it because axle seals had leaked oil.
