If you are like me and wanted to save that rectangular switch location for something else then get into your parts catalog and find the mirror control switch for the 2011 Sienna mini-van. It's the same as our mirror control switch except that models equipped with heated mirrors have a heated mirror button included on it. You can see it in the line drawing as option #1, part number 84870A. First one I got was beige and black so I had to get another in black and grey.

Random url that came up from a quick google search for it.

[EDIT] changed the part number as I had an incorrect digit in the first listing. It's offered at your favorite Toyota parts reseller with either a beige or light grey surround. To my knowledge the timer is part of the switch as my brother in law installed it for me while I was away and if he had to purchase another part he certainly would have hit me up for that additional cost as he is a cheap frackar.

So you have installed this in your truck? Does the switch itself contain the timer or is there a timer relay? It's a bit steep at $130, but I'll have to spend over $100 on 2 switches anyway now.

you have to splice three sets of wires - one for the turn signal, one for the puddle light, and one for the heater element

the finished product looks awesome - not to mention a much needed mod

Do you have the full part # for that Sienna window switch. Apparently the dealer near me is charging $300 for it and I'm trying to find the proper one online.

Is that extra button for power folding mirrors? That would be another nice feature to have.

OME 885s on Bilstein 5100s set at 0 with 1/2" plate spacers. OME Dakars with Bilstein 5100 Extended Length Shocks. 16" Pro Comp 7032 wheels wrapped with 285/75-16 Duratracs
... they also make one that has a "heated mirror button" in place of the "power folding button"... along with a wide range of auxiliary switches that would fit our switch opening, but are almost impossible to get.

Emailed my local dealer and here's what they said:

    ME:
I'm wondering if you can help me with a part. I'm looking for the power mirror controller with the heated mirror button for a 2011 Sienna. I don't have a Sienna but I've heard it will fit in my 2009 Tacoma with aftermarket heated mirrors. Also do you know if that switch had a built in timer for the heaters ? Any help would be appreciated.

    DEALER:
I checked with our sales staff to confirm that the heated mirrors are activated by the rear window defogger switch. You cannot do this with the mirror switch.

So to me it sounds like the power mirror switch only has the 'power fold' and the Sienna has the rear defrost button that activates the heated mirrors.

I'm wondering if that power fold button is just a momentary contact or not. It might be possible to use that along with a timer (such as PAC audio tr7) to a spst relay and operate the heaters through that ? Just a thought

Now that the 2012 Tacoma parts are available, shouldn't we order the oem side mirrors from it instead of the 4runner? Any1 tried that? I've called a Toyota Dealer part dept, one of the rep quoted me $227+ for the whole assembly (cover included!). If I can be sure it will fit and work on the previous models, I'm all over it, if not, guess I'll have to order the set of 2010 4runner from 1A Auto, any1 has experienced with their stuff?

That should work just fine, but they only have the turn signal. They are not heated for those who want it.

Are they already painted body color when you order them?

If the OP is still around, he/she should clean up the first post, add pics, do a good ole how-to.

I'd certainly like to see all the information centralized, for people who want to do this mod. Very slick!!
