So getting kind of bored with my 1st Gen 4Runner. The motor is in and works well. However I have a boat that isn't going anywhere (my dad and grandpa built it) and I need a tow rig. The 4Runner does not do this well even though the boat probably weighs a max of 2K lbs with trailer and all.

So, I put the 4Runner up for sale or trade on Craigslist. Got a couple offers. One from a guy with a low mileage Silverado 2500 with a 350 small block.

Just got an email from a guy who has a 94 Toyota Pickup with the 3.0 V6 and 157K miles.

Here's a pic of my truck:

    DSCN3580_c1a5a474875c6cbc63313e62cff425342b274e9e.jpg

And here's the truck he's offering me:
    image_25e531eae28ba6126f74278e0e3e6ee7c33a8f3f.jpg

I know about the potential issues with the 3.Slow. But I've also seen plenty of these engines go well past 250K on original head gaskets.

    Thoughts?

Go ahead. You've been good this year. It'd be a good christmas present for yourself.

I have it listed for $5K right now. Trades and reasonable offers considered.

i called a local place in corvallis and got quoted 1232 for a set of duratracs!!! they were sold out though and are apparently on national backorder. i could get a set of general grabber AT2s for 900. i have only ever owned bfg a/t kos and while its a good tire i feel like once i get down around 40-30% it just loses all traction. anyone got experience with the grabbers?

forgot to say. 6 ply if it matters. 265/70/17

    2004. My favorite year. :D

You need to do your price searching online. I've easily saved myself and family/friends thousands combined by finding tires online.

ok so ive only bought tires from costco. i drop off my car go get food and come out with new tires on car. i guess i dont understand how they would ship tires to my place, or if i need to order it online and have it sent to a nearby discount tire, or if i just go down to discount tire.

I recommend tirerack.com. They have a ton of locations that they "drop ship" the tires to and then that place handles installation. I bet it would still save you money. Just my $0.02

Haha. No. I keep a close eye on my car though since I know the 04 is the only one with the bolt pattern that will fit regular WRX's.

Cameron, you could get a set of MT's 285/75/R16 shipped to you for $500. So...I think you need to search for a better price online.

What would you be putting them on?

I doubt I will sell them. Even if I got other rims I'd probably use the BBS' to run two separate set of tires
