Hello all, i have a 05 Taco, and the stock wheels suck... The center cap clips break very easily and fall off... To fix this problem I pulled all of the center caps off of my truck.... Now it doesnt look so fresh, but atleast im not stuck buying a 40.00 center cap that is poorly made and will fall off again.

Question is.... Do they make wheels with better center caps that dont attach with flimsy clips?

I was thinking of buying some 4 Runner wheels and sticking them on my Taco.. But i dont wanna run into the same problem that i had before.. with plastic crappy center caps...

Do manufacturers make metal center caps?

What about the 4 runner wheel center caps do they fall off easily?

    Please advise...

    Thanks

i use black electrical tape to hold mine in place. can't hardly see it unless your up close. i have black covers and rims so it blends in real nice.

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but I would never look at replacing my wheels just so I could get center caps that didn't fall off.

The center caps should not be falling off period. Which stock rims do you have? Pics?

Are you talking about these? I haven't had any problems with them.

trdparts4u has caps for $7. Silicone them on that way you can remove them if needed. Ive never lost one and cracked 2 of my 4 on rocks/trees.

And guys, when i get my tires rotated at the place they have to remove the caps and put them back on, and the prongs that hold them on get bent and break eventually.. then the caps fall off.. tell me this doesnt happen to you all?

That's odd - I've never had center caps break that easily.

I guess the electrical tape idea is going to be your best bet until we can come up with something else.

Caps are purely cosmetic correct? Ive been fine leaving all 4 off... Better gas mileage less weight to turn the wheels!

my stockers would not come off, even with 1/2 the tabs broken off. I was talking about my pro comps 7089 caps.
