Following initial calibration, my UG provides very accurate fuel readings.

This is true. I have the ulta in my honda. It works well after some adjustments. Same with the scan gauge. It takes a few fillups but once your there your there!

    Too many mods to list
Calibrated mine as per instructions. Nothing has worked for me. Everything else seems fine though. I will perhaps try re-calibrating it tomorrow.

This is the whole reason I was thinking of getting one of these. The fuel gauge is not much better than a guess. When the low fuel light comes on at 3-4 gallons and at 2-3 the needle is on E then what 1/2 on the gauge really mean? 3/4's? Being able to know if you can have an extra 80 miles is a big deal. Cali is just one big city so you would not understand isolation.

You do realize that the last 3-4 gallons of gas is used to keep the fuel pump cool and if you use up those last few gallon you run the possibility of burning up your pump?

    Yes it sound isolated

"While the Mojave Desert itself is sparsely populated, it has increasingly become urbanized in recent years. Las Vegas, Nevada is the largest city in the Mojave, with a metropolitan population of around 1.9 million in 2006. Lancaster is the largest California city in the desert, and over 850,000 people live in areas of the Mojave."

    and not busy

"Traffic: If you're going on a weekend, know that there WILL be traffic. Not maybe. Not perhaps. There is no luck involved here. There WILL be traffic. Even if it's 3 a.m. Saturday, there is traffic.

However, on an average weekend, the traffic is not too bad (by Southern California standards). You can usually make it from L.A. to Vegas in about five hours. It'll be bumper to bumper around Barstow, but it'll clear up and you could end up going about 70 mph the rest of the way.

It seems most visitors leave Southern California between Friday morning and very late Friday night, but everyone heads back to L.A. between noon and 8 p.m. on Sunday. The trip to L.A. is almost always slower than the trip to Vegas. If you can take Monday off and travel then, you'll be traffic free."

Sounds like a gas station around every corner.

Whats round, long and full of sea men?
