cool. i might get one of those around christmas. itll mostly be used for like action photography like dirt jumping and maybe snowboarding so ill most likely only have one shot anyways so i should have time to let it cool down and recycle.

i actually tried some like 10 dollar lights at walmart. they worked alright i just didnt realize the lights were different two different temps:eek: haha ill have to get some matching lights and try them again.

x2 thats why ive been considering an 800 you can find some for the price of a new sb700.

Nice basketball shots! And yeah it takes some expensive equipment to get good noise free shots indoors like that (70-200 f2.8 lenses:eek:).

Oh really. I have no experience with fast lenses so I guess they don't make as much of a difference as I thought.

I guess that's why people spend big bucks on high end bodies, for the ISO performance.

they make a big difference in being able to take pics in low light conditions.

Had I had a D300s/D700/D3 those images would have been crystal clear

Oh ok, I tried taking some basketball shots with my 55-250, it did not go well haha. ISO 3200 was still too slow, had to bump it to 6400 which is useless on the 550D.

Hey Tony, Nice BB pix. Two comments. White balance and tighter crops.

I know you're probably not shooting with flash/access to the arena strobes. That would definitely make things better with regard to pop. What settings? You said ISO 3200. I'm guessing f/2.8--on what body? With most newer Nikon bodies, ISO6400 is pretty darn good and if you really needed it, noise ninja would clean that up.

Also, you shooting with VR on?

    the body was a Nikon D3100, f2.8, shutter speed 1/640 or 1/500.

I did crop some of some of them

I'll post a few more that I have

    I think you're right.

And Colin, the car pix are awesome. Only comment is watch your backgrounds--you have a fence running through the top of the car in your first shot. It's not too bad but just something to watch.

I think what may have caused the green glow was the green paint on the court and green pads on the hoops themselves
