Snow/Rain mix in Nanaimo. I want to explore more behind Ladysmith. Last time I only made it to Coronation Lake, Drove some more towards Holland lake, but the snow was getting way too deep, it was that wet crap so I turned around. Too bad because I wanted to keep going through to Mt.Brenton/Copper Canyon, some nice lakes out that way.

I was not in the mood to get stuck because the weekend before, I was stuck out by Renfrew for a couple hours. Made it out with a shovel and the bed mat but still.. stupid all seasons, stupid me for expecting them to make fresh tracks in 10"+ deep wet snow on a decent hill. Another thing, really not fond of having an automatic in the snow, its tempting to re insure my 83 for the winter.

    Just saw this thread.

I might be able to make it up there on the 3rd. Is this run do-able with a stock SR5 4x4? The only real upgrade I have is General Grabber AT2s.

so are we talking about another run this sunday? I think someone mentioned earlier having it on the 19th (Sat).I might be up for it this weekend regardless of the day. I was actually hoping to complete the scuba mod as this is something that I really need to get done. I'm more than a little nervous about fording through water with the diffs the way they are.so who's up for a Sat or Sun run?

How much is the ferry from the main land now. That's one of the deciding factors of me coming there, that and whether or not I've got another truck by then. But the dates are right for me to make it and I've been wanting to go to the island for the past year just never made it. Was to damn busy in the summer.

Ferry ride over is $70ish each way.
Try and make it. Though the earliest ferry is 7am and its 1.5 hours...
Maybe one of us can put you up if you come the night before.
Syncros if you're coming from the north, I'd say lets try and meet close to the entry point to where we will start wheeling. Others know the area better than me, plus I guess we're doing the fire roads originally mentioned in the first post. Dan needs to chime in on the exact whereabouts these roads are accessed from.
Crusher, you in? We need someone there this weekend who really knows how to thrash a truck :D

Anyone in Vic have a good torque wrench and 30 minutes to spare before Sunday. I really need to retorque my wheel spacers before going out... :)

Hey Tarik I have a torque wrench, it's old but well taken care of and I'd like to help if you want to drop by my house, my cell #250-516-2760. Unfortunately I can't come out this weekend, have to drop my son off at work in Sidney by 5:30 then planning to head into the bush with my rifle. I might see you guys on my way out. Have to be home by 130 for football game.
