Anyone into R/C?

picked up some paddle tires for my baja and i'm itching to go somewhere sandy now!!

 

Kinda new to the rc cars and such, anyone know what kinda gear you would run in that Axial SCX10?

 

i thought about the wraith, but with that chassis that pivots in the center (for crawling) i would think it would not be very stable high speed bashing.

 

already pre-ordered mine ....(jan 20 2012)

the stuff i have is about 15 years old, so i am renewing equipment as well.
not going the $$$ route, but don't think i am going cheap either.

I don't know if either of those would be very quick at all. Maybe that's not what you're into but I couldn't imagine spending that much money on an RC that's "slow-ish". Check out the 1/16 Traxxas Summit. I think that may fit your needs pretty well.


On a somewhat unrelated note, I took my SC10 to the local skate park yesterday, jumped it around for a while and then SMACK. Front right A-arm got skullf***ed by a pole... Waiting on aluminum replacement to come in.

Really? From all of the reviews I've seen the Wraith looks pretty damn fast for a crawler.

That's what I'm thinking too.

As soon as I get my DuraTracs, and recover from that hit to the wallet, I will likely be picking up one of the two. The whole R/C industry has changed since I was into it years ago, much more stuff out there for them.

I didn't break the arms. I broke the bulkhead. I'm gonna get the aluminum bulkhead and if i break the arms i'll go RPM's for sure. I really need to make the bumper wider so that shit doesn't happen anymore.

Hey, I could be wrong. I just know that my truck is meant to be "fast" and I don't think it's fast enough. Granted, I've already wrecked and broken it...

 

I like nitro because of the noise, smell, being able to run for long periods of time.

just picked up a Slash 4x4 last week and have had it out at work on the jobsite a couple times. ive had small cheap RCs when i was a kid but htis is my first nice one. what do any of you suggest i do for some of my first mods? what do you recomend for a longer use battery?
