Pull the engine cover then pull the back bolt on the stock air box that goes into the intake manifold and tell me if yours sucks air too

.......I might have screwed up royally

Service guys were unfamiliar with it since they don`t do very many TRD airbox swaps and the parts schematic doesn`t show the threaded metal part as removable from the manifold leading me to believe.........

I might have screwed up royally

Sounds very likely that you screwed up, the bolt shouldnt have gone far enough to puncture anything that would cause a leak, if this is the case, then uh oh!

Had to get smogged today and the bythebook smog guy failed me on the visual for the OMG! aftermarket intake -gasp- I told him it was a dealer install, anyways, when I put the stock box back on I overlooked the rubber spacers with the metal sleeve and just tightened `er down.......crap

Did I punch it through the manifold?????
Somebody tell me I`m not the only one THAT SUCKS!

The rubber spacer seals it up but I`m going to need that when I put the TRD back on they use both spacers in the box. Like I`m going to trust that 400 miles from home at 3:30 am in a snowstorm anyways arrrrrrrrrrrgh

Sometimes the shit I do really makes me wonder

It`s the back hole on the stock airbox, threads into the manifold, the front one threads into the valve cover

Forget the rivit, a bolt and nut on the back should fill the hole.

I`m thinking rubber grommet under the bolt kinda like what`s on there now.....sealant.....I like the jb weld idea......
That`ll take care of the vacuum leak.

But where`d the little piece of plastic go that I punched down into the block?????
Is it going to plug an oil hole or destroy a valve 200 miles from home in the snowstorm I -WAS- planning on driving through in the morning

    ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

Yep, that`s it but if you pull the manifold schematic it doesn`t show the metal threaded part as a part. I pulled a couple of others off the manifold, the cover hold down stud and the bolt on the back stock cover rail and it`s plastic under the threads.....I`m fubar`d I punched it through crap!
