    What's your opinion of his music? He was my absolute favorite musician back in college! Saw him in concert more times than I can remember. Of course, this was all before his signing with a major label. His last 3 albums (to me at least) have sucked. Just way too produced.

    However, his latest album that he just released sounds pretty good. And the title track "What I'm For" is my favorite track. It sounds more like the old Pat, only different. One thing about it though - he "redid" Carry On for this album... changing "billboards and bull shit got her down" to "billboards and b.s. blah blah" and "come down to Texas and drink with me a while" to "come down to my place blah blah..." The first change I can understand if he's gonna release it as a single. But the other one??? Come on!

    Anyway, I bring this up because I'm going to see him play up here in Minneapolis on Thursday and I'm not sure what to expect. I haven't seen any of his shows since he went "big time".

    So, thoughts?

    I was in the sell out camp for a long time. But, you should give his latest album a chance. Some songs aren't the best, but a few really are...

    I'm a much bigger fan of Jack Ingram, but I still enjoy PG. I've seen both more times than I can count, but I love seeing Jack at Billy Bob's.

    I like Eli Young, but haven't heard anything from the others. I've heard of them, just not their music. I haven't really kept up with many of the newer Texas Country guys... I'm still on Pat, Cory Morrow, Robert Earl Keen, Roger Creager, etc... Late '90s/early '00s.

    Not a fan of PAt. I was a huge Jack Ingram fan before he went to Nashville. I dont like to call any one a sell out. If they can go to Nashville and make tons of money and sell more albums more power to them I just may not listen to them any more after they change their style.

    For good Texas music check out Wayne Hancock and Dale Watson. If you dig that I can turn you on to tons of other great Texas artist that will never be played on radio.
