skiiers alot of the most time have this wierd attitude that skiing is just better all around...it gets really old when they blame snowboarders for things like exposing rocks and scraping the hill and side cutting...when that would only be the idiot boarders, just like how the idiot skiiers do the exact same thing. Its not all of them, but alot of them have an air that they think they are better, and it takes a bit to slap that crap back into check.

"Some" skiers hate us, because they owe us and they don't want to admit it. Many resorts in the early 80's were dying, dwindling crowds, technology lagging. This is back when I was a skier, uggh.

Along comes boarding and changes, everything. The resorts that welcomed boarders took off, parks emerged, pipes abounded, tons of new folks picked up the sport. We wore different clothing, baggy, bland, not pink or chartreuse. We were surfers and skateboarders on the snow, with attitude and not etiquette.

Then, the ski industry took note of our board shapes, now their skis are skinny boards and they can actually carve, albeit not as well as a boarder. Notice their clothing, it's baggier, more comfortable, kinda like snowboard gear.

We enjoy the thrill of the hill, the hits along the signs, next to the trees, across the catwalks. They enjoy getting down the hill the most direct route, seldom going off track, never sitting to enjoy the view. I spent a week last year with two skiers at Breck, I was miserable at times on the hill. Me, scouting for the next hit, slash, or hidden drop. Them, tearing down the groomed run to get back in line.

Anyway, they (less and less of em) hate us because they owe us.

As a boarder patroller at a local hill that's been open for 75+ years, I can tell you first hand we're winning, if there's such a thing.

Be a good ambassador for the sport, tell a skier how liberating it is, how much more of the hill you enjoy, the soulfulness of it, how much more of a workout it is.

    Shred on...

Hike ur ass off (really, your ass off to just get to where a fire is, especially out West) wherever needed through out the U.S. with 65 but usually 110lbs on your back, 16 hours a day with MAYBE a 30 min lunch, camp out 110+days from May-Oct, be Marine like in all your duties, and put up with more shit than most people can imagine....

Oh yeah, today splitted up 4000 vert and rode untracked 18in cold powder on Teton Pass:D

The tacomas flawless up the Pass

not bad for 150 if thats the price, its good starter board if you just recently started, does it come with everything in the pictures?

EDIT (just seen that it comes with the bag and flow bindings, if they are in good condition then thats a good deal, i say talk to the guy and see what you can work out with him)

hahahahaha. good one. and i like how they say we mess up the snow to much. but when we carve or turn we only have 1 edge in to mess up the snow. they mess up twice as much as we do. lol
