I just finished my grill last weekend. I used a colored matched grill off a pre 2011 tacoma. I used many of the write ups on tacoma world to do this, so thanks to all those people.

    Here is my original grill.

Then my purchased color matched grill.

    Taping the grill up.

    Cutting out the center pieces.

All pieces cut out. I used a dremel and hack saw blade.

I used a fiberglass kit for the 2 ends, then bondoed everything. This is after 2 or 3 coats of bondo. Sanding and reapplying.

    Where I epoxied the screws.

    Epoxied screws to the emblem.

This is where I relocated my horns to. Just used an existing screw that holds a bracket that is in front of the radiator.

Mounting points for the grill I put on.

After I painted the radiator with engine high temperature paint.

    Finished product on truck.

    Just bought it!
glad to see someone doing this with the hood guard. I prefer the satoshis that are mounted on the outside of the grill instead of the inside, but I don't ever see anyone who's doing it with a hood guard so it's hard to get an idea if it'll still look good or not with mine.

Looks good, people tend to forget to paint the rad.

Looks great! Are you able to see the horns through the lower valence opening?

Nice work on the grill, hard to tell but were you able to relocate both horns in that spot?

it's not a satoshi unless it's on the inside... on the outside, it's just a "bolt-on"

Yes, both horns do fit there. Barely, but they do. Beside where I put the horns, there is predrilled and threaded holes that I could have used. But I would have needed to go to the store and buy some bolts. I may still do that. If I remember correctly, they were the same size as the windshield washer reservoir bolts.

Yes. I newspapered the bumper and some surrounding areas that I didn't want to accidentally overspray on. I also taped the ac line caps.

Nice job. I need to get up the courage to hack up my grill. That looks a lot better than stock.
