ABS not working

so my abs light has been on for a long time now, like months, and i never thought it was a big deal. i took it in to get checked out and they had no idea what it was.... told me its probably a dirty sensor. but it snowed for the first time and when i tap the brakes, all four tires lock up and i slide all over the road. any ideas or suggestions? i was going to check out the sensors by the wheels but don't know exactly which ones they are. maybe a sensor just burnt out? any help would be appreciated.

 

You need to have the codes pulled to start a diagnostic plan.
Could be anything from a bad sensor to a bad wiring harness to a bad actuator. Once you have the codes there are steps to eliminate problems with the system...

 

figured it out. small cut in the wire going to the sensor
