Just picked up my first Tacoma last night. 2012 Super White DCSB 4x4 with Sport Upgrade with Entune/Nav. Haven't driven it much and I have a take-home car for work but I'll make use of it during the weekends.

I preferred the aesthetics of the sport and really did not have any intentions of intense off-loading (light 4wd use on occasion). I figured I could always add a locker later. Not sure about mods but I like the look of Munkeeboi's Tacoma.

Well, I envy you guys who are pulling the trigger on getting your 2012 Tacomas. I've decided to hold off a bit on getting mine. I am about to pay off my current car in the next two months and I am a bit upside down in my townhouse. Im planning on throwing all my extra money from my paychecks at the mortgage over the next year or so to pay it down so I can sell it. A $500 payment will eat a healthy chunk out of my ability to pay it down. I'm pretty bummed about it, but I need to do it.

Were you in Northridge today? I saw a white double cab exactly like yours, i know its stock, but 2012s are hard to come by, and I believe it had a Power license plate also.

No sir, that was not me. I have not seen many 2012s on the road either and I think my combo might be somewhat rare, since almost all 4wd Tacomas I saw for 2012 were OR package.

Trudy - you are bringing back fond memories of when I got a 2011 TRD Sport Timberland Mica. 2 weeks after I purchased the car, it went to the dealership for oval tube steps and a front skid plate. Hopefully you will be as stoked about your truck as I was and still am.

    Hope you enjoy it 110%!

Weird - there may have been a few options that I missed or something.

Do you thnk you will be able to swap out the Interior for the 2012 into the 2011's? its just the middle dash if i wanted to get the Navi and entune it doesnt look like that big of a deal to swap and the driver wheel?

This has been asked a ton of times, and nobody really knows.

The consensus seems to be that the overall fitment of the center dash should be the same, but getting Entune to work in a pre-2012 may be tough.

    Hey folks!

Got my first ever Taco last week. It's a DCSB TRD Sport (manual w/leather). We had quite a bit of snow here (Alberta, Canada) last week. The timing couldn't have been better.

Would have preferred an Off-road package but they're only available in access cabs in Canada. Too bad.

LOVE the 6-speed manual!!!!!!! Never thought it would be this smooth! Good thing too because, again, in Canada the DCSB only comes with a stick. DCLBs are all autos.

Anyway, it's going in for a few upgrades on Wednesday (I'll post pics):
    - 3" body lift
    - TRD quick shifter
    - 265/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires (Canadian version of the Duratracs made with a softer compound I believe). I read some poor reviews about the Authorities and was worried they're similar but the Territories have some excellent reviews.
    - I'm waiting for the black FJ's Trail Team replica wheels to become available. For now, the rubber will be on black steelies.
    - Oh and last but NOT least here in Alberta... a 2-way remote starter! haha

I ran both web sites with the exact info I gave you with a CA zip code. I got the same ammount you got from Over stock and USAA was more from the same zip. After I added all the options I wanted beyond what I told you, Overstock and USAA were exactly the same.

why a body lift? not trying to rain on your parade and i know funds could hinder what you can purchase, but i think a 3" suspension would be well worth the wait to save up the money. awesome lookin' truck none the less. i love the black '12s. plan on getting a black, dclb sport when i get back to the states.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. I'm basically getting it for free. What's a good choice for a 3" suspension lift (not a body lift)? Toytec OME kit?

    Thanks.

    A few bolts are different.
after all said and done you may wish you had never seen a free body lift. Skip it.

toytec is an option. doin some searching around on the forum. there's countless ways to lift 3". i would definitely stay away from the body lifts and spacer lifts

Okay, so I was being a total newb and confused body with spacer lifts.

Here's the kit that's going on my Taco.

The Toyota dealers (at least near me) don't offer any 3" (non-spacer) lifts. It's either spacers or a complete suspension overhaul for a 6" lift. That's too much lift and $.

I could always buy something online and get it done somewhere else but it's not going to help me with my powertrain warranty issues. Unlike a kit that's bought from and installed by Toyota.

Perhaps when my warranty runs out.

By the way, I appreciate the responses.
