Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
too much bass in your music? lol. j/k.

my driver side mirror was a bit loose but it didn't happen until around 70k miles. I popped off the cap outside on the bottom and turned that torx screw and that fixed it right up. I forget if it was T25 or T27. It only took 1/4-1/2 of a turn if I remember correctly. It might have even be less turn than that, it wasn't much.

No joy on that fix. The glass itself is loose. You can actually feel it. I think it's where the mirror attaches to the housing; The snap fit. Still getting the run-around from Toyota. The longer I see the problem, the more upset I get.

No help from Toyota! I have a brand new truck with loose and vibrating outside mirrors. Three 2010 trucks driven by two separate dealers had the same issue!

Same here. My driverside mirror always vibrates loose. I always tighten it....and it always comes loose. I even had the dealership tighten it, just to make them do it, and it came loose again. So I brought the truck back to them and yelled at them about it. haha. I'm just gonna slap some red loctite and leave it.

Update for everyone with loose and vibrating mirrors...

Toyota Field Support, apparently after recent complaints and subsequent inspections, has elevated the issue to a "Design Flaw / Issue."

How long do you think it will take to get a fix and a TSB issued...? I'm thinking years...

Reviving this as I hear Toyota may be coming out with a fix soon.....? At least that's what I'm hearing from their customer care department. Call 'em and bitch if your mirrors are loose.

Anyone hearing anything about a loose mirror fix on these trucks? Anyone working at Toyota that may have some insight? Back in May, I was told by my case manager that this had been elevated to a design flaw but have called recently and there are "no updates." Still pissed every time I drive down the raod and look in my mirrors...

5% Front strip and doors, 20% wrapped around the rest of the truck.
I have the same problem on my drivers side and at highway speeds I can not tell what kind of vehicle it is behind that's how bad the vibration is but my passenger side mirror, perfectly still.

    Please help me out guys...

Toyota realizes this is an issue with their mirrors. I know that it was evident on two trucks right off the lot that my dealer tested as well as mine. Toyota Field Service / Representatives acknowledge the problem and that it has no fix. I'd be interested to know if the 2011 / 2012 models have the same issues. I was told by Toyota today that not enough people are complaining. Please give them a call at (800) 331-4331 and bitch at 'em if you have this issue.

I've had the truck for two years and I get jacked every time I look in my mirrors. Not sure what else I can do other than maybe Muth mirrors or the like and I'm not sure that will fix the problem.

Today I have to take my truck on the freeway and I'll pay special attention to the mirrors. I'll report back to you on this. Thanks for the heads up.

Beauty. If you look through this thread, it's not as if my truck is the only one that does it...Mine is very noticeable. More so on the driver's side. It's easiest to see when you look at a sign or another car. Also very noticeable when compared to the rear view mirror. I can't believe Toyota cant fix this..

Just came back from my errand. I did not have a problem with either side. I did, however, push on the outside each of the mirror edges. It does move but I think that's a little bit of 'give'.

Have you tried moving the mirrors to the furthest extreme each way using the power switch? Then putting it back to where you need it?

The reason I ask is because my Lexus was loose so I tried that and for some reason it seemed to have worked.

my 2011 drives side vibrates slightly at highway speeds. It doesn't really bother me too much though. I just use it to see if there is a car there and don't need a rock solid surface to see that .. but I do understand your POV

Please call guys! Thanks for the responses. (800) 331-4331. Toyota knows they have a problem with no fix but won't create a TSB until enough people complain!
