    Nice observation my friend. I wanted a tripod that i could hold in my hand (by the foam handle with this tripod) that way i could hold the pole and shoot video of myself. I unscrewed the sharp end of the tripod, and got a screw that i could screw down into the pole on one end, and into the tripod mount on the other! Works like a charm!

    The thing that has me excited is the new wifi backpack they're going to offer next year. It will allow remote triggering of the camera, and live streaming video.

    I have flown my go pro under my large kite before, and having the ability to see what the camera sees and trigger the picture or video at the right time would be fantastic.
