Just put in a new battery at 70,000 miles. Does this effect my maintenance required light? hoping not, because i did not note the mileage at my last oil change. i just reset the light and wait till it comes on again to change the oil. did changing the battery reset this though?

well it might. My light was on and i welded something on my truck so i took the battery loose. when i reconnected light was out... :notsure:

i change my oil every 5000 on the dot so it works out. Maybe do that to your truck go a little over next change and start maintenance every 5k so you dont have to rely on a light...

Didn't affect mine. Never thought about it until reading this. I replaced my battery a few weeks ago. It did reset something that I had to re-silence the seat belt chime and redo all my radio presets but my maintenance required light came on like always. Started flashing 500 miles out. That was just a few days ago. I'd imagine that since it's tied to the ODO it'll always work since disconnecting the battery doesn't zero the mileage.
