On mine, there is 1/2 inch difference between the two sides. From top of bumper (same location on the bumper measured in my garage so a flat surface) 24" on passenger side and 23.5" on drivers side. Can't believe I didn't notice this when I took delivery after the TSB. Wonder if the dealer will be able to do anything?

Major, I measured mine last night in the drive way. I did it in several places and found the drivers side 1/2 low with a full tank of gas.

Redsoxnation, I would go in and have it done anyway. Once out of warranty, Toyota will no longer do it on their dime. There are many posts on TW where folks have wanted the TSB after out of warranty and have been SOL. My 2 cents, I would do it anyway.

    Steve Zak,

I am going to watch mine with various fuel levels to ss if there is any difference. If so will advise.

Major, I'm just going to do the AAL and go from there. Redsoxnation if I had a choice to get the TSB for free I would get it done! Springs only get weaker over time.

I would take it in. Read the TSB and make sure to tell them the "symptoms" your truck has that qualify it for the TSB.

I've seen that explanation on this forum as well. I love my truck but one must admit that Toyota could have solved this problem by doing minor engineering adjustments to prepare it for the US market. It also doesn't explain why the difference in height is different on some Tacos is more than others.

Okay, so I read this entire thread... I noticed that a bunch of you said you were out of factory warrenty 3yr/36k and seemed resigned to just not getting it done. I just took my truck in today, its an 06 TRD sport with 58k on it. I do have the extended warrenty that goes to 75k. It looks like they will most likely do the spring TSB. The service guy said that since it is out of the fac warrenty, an inspector will have to come look at it, but he seemed relatively sure that it would be done. Just thought that info may be helpful for some of you guys if you have extended warrenty.

I would do it. It will give you a small lift and then you can just get toytec's AAL thats designed for this.

You'll be glad you did. If you need to, call 1-800-331-4331 and tell toyota customer service the symptoms you're having and that you know there is a tsb for it. they will give you a case number and when you call your dealership, tell them about it and give them the case number. i did mine that way and had no problems getting it done.

I wonder if I could also get the tailgate replaced under TSB B0018-07 ?
