Original ipod Nano recalled in US

Has anyone gotten a returned one yet? I signed mine up and haven't received the box to ship it in. Its been a week

 

Nope still waiting. It'll probably take a while.

 

same here, didnt it say it could take up to 6 weeks? might be for the whole process of sending the box out, recieving and shipping the replacement out

 

I just punched the info in and now am being sent a box. I wouldn't have even wasted my time if I would have read this whole thread, mines engraved on the metal back with a special message from the person who gave it to me. If I'm not getting that back, its not worth it. I use mine almost every day since new and it still works fine.

 

you dont have to send it back, just throw the box away...im still debating on sending mine back, nothing special to it but i know it hasnt been abused and still works fine

 

From what I've read, you will receive one that does not have the engraving

 

yeah i dont think they are going to fix yours and send it back, they are sending a different one.

does any know if its a refurb or new one yet?

 

That depends, I've seen refurbished items look like brand new and I've seen them look like it was bought at a flea market or yard sale. I won't buy refurb's unless I'm getting it dirt cheap, not for some 10-15% off bs like a lot offer.

figured i would update, i got the return envelope today, im still not 100% sure if i want to do it though.

 

I got a conformation from apple that they recieved mine on 11/15, so that would put me a few days past 4 weeks. Was told I would get a new 6th gen nano within 6 weeks of them recieving it so that would put it here by 27th of this month. Not gonna hold my breath on that tho

Really do wish it would come back tho, I used my nano pretty much daily.

you wont get a 6th gen, you get a 1st. i wanna know if its new or a refurb...everything ive ever had refurbished messed up a few months later.

they sent me a bubble mailer envelope, not a box. you guys should post when you get your new one

 

I got my box about 1.5 weeks ago (about 3 weeks after I filled out the online form) and shipped it out the next day. It was a fed ex box with black foam inserts with a little hole to place the nano in. My battery wouldnt hold a charge for more then 1 hour anyway, so this was a no brainer for me.

I dont remember getting a confirmation that they got it though.

Just saw this post, Have a old 1st gen that totally died, couldn't bear to throw it out. Filled out the form, if they send me something that's better than my lightweight paper weight !

wtf i got a bubble mailer that looked like it was run over!!

 

Yup. one of those brown cardboard boxes where the lip flips down and has tabs that tuck into the sides to make a "seal". It was about 8"x6"x3". Came with some heavy duty shipping foam and a plastic baggy.

All I needed to do was put the nano in the baggy, place it in between the 2 layers of foam, seal the box, peel off the original shipping label (under it was the return to Apple label) and drop it off at a kinkos.

so they can say they dont wanna send me a new one....
