    • Take an antihistamine (like Benadryl) to help prevent allergic reactions and swelling
    • After washing the bites, as soon as possible:
      • Worcestershire sauce. Cover the bite(s) with a paper towel and saturate with the sauce.
      • Hot water.
      • Put a penny on each welt and tape it on with scotch tape. This can provide almost immediate relief with the welts being gone in a few hours.
      • Bleach and water (half and half) or full strength, followed in 15 minutes by a slathering of Arm & Hammer Advance White toothpaste with baking soda and peroxide.
      • Cut open a fresh lime and rub the area in several different directions until you feel the burning and itching stop. Once you've saturated the area with the lime and lime juice, you won't even get any pustules or scabs. Also, you won't get scars!
      • Ammonia alone, or alternately applying ammonia and hydrogen peroxide with two rags, cotton balls, or paper towels. A reader writes: "A touch of ammonia on the bite immediately (within 15 minutes, or the body begins to heal by covering over the wound) will neutralize the venom.
      • Plantain extract.
      • Soak in a tub of warm water with 3 cups of 20 Mule Team Borax. Borax is actually the mineral boron. So you are taking a mineral bath. This draws out the venom.
      • Topical steroid cream such as a 1/4% or stronger hydrocortisone cream.
      • Baking soda and water (thick paste)
      • Meat tenderizer and water (thick paste)
      • Alcohol
      • Vinegar. (This is the suggested solution for use with box jellyfish.)
      • Crushed aspirin (thick paste). May help even after a day.
      • Salt (thick paste)
      • Tea Tree oil (may also be good for other insect bites, such as, chiggers, fleas and mosquitoes)
      • Aloe jell
      • Liquid dishwashing soap (not dishwasher soap).
      • Freshly cut onion
      • Peroxide
These can reduce the pain and itching. You can carry a small spray bottle of some of these mixtures with you to use immediately if you know you will be in an infested area that is not close to the house.
    • Apply an ice cube to reduce pain and itching
    • Immediately apply USDA grade peppermint oil, then USDA grade lavender oil, repeatedly.

 I can only watch portions of that show....gives me the heeby geebys every time!

So after we were done with Colter's truck, I pulled mine in because I had to pull a ballast. One of my Hellas went out so I figured hell, he has a heated shop, I'll take it out here. As I was driving in, I realized that one of my LED corner lights was flickering pretty bad. After removing my ballast, I went to pull that out to see what was wrong, as in maybe it was seated funny or something like that. As I pull the little plug thing out, the bulb apparently came loose, and we hear it fall and then nothing. We looked EVERYWHERE. I am serious when I say that there was no stone left unturned... I then proceeded to pull of the grille and passenger side headlamp in order to create more open space to look back where the light could have possibly gone. Still...Nothing. I then pulled the other side to show Colter what the bulbs looked like. That bulb fell out of the plug too! Except that one fell into the housing. Tried to get it out with a magnet, but no luck. Had to pull that housing off too and essentially dump the bulb out... At this point, not a happy camper at all. As I was pulling the driver's side headlight away from the truck so that I could turn it and get the light out one of my connections to the shield on my ballast broke away. So of course we had to fix that with a splice, since I obviously got it a little too hot when I was soldering.

So I have one corner light, but it is not in the housing. The other light that originally fell out was never found. A 1 hour job on his truck turned into a 2.5 hour on mine!
