    Hi,

I make a lots of stops throughout my daily driving. About 4 stops daily where I get out for 1-2 minutes and leave again.

Question: Gas wise, is it better to just leave the engine on, come out, and then back in. Does starting the engine waste a lot of gas? Would I save more gas to just leave it running?

Engine wise: Is it bad for the engine (starter) to start it a lot of times throughout the day? Or it shouldn't make much of a difference?

I dont think it makes much difference. I hear alot of people to say shut it off to save fuel.

I read on bobtheoilguy that something like 80-90% of engine wear occurs at start up

I would think that refers to cold starts. If the engine has been running, a few minutes of off time should not impact the lubrication of the engine much.
