I'd guess they did it temporarily for promotional purposes. I bet will be back to normal by gameday.

They didn't even completely remove the 'MissStake' from behind it.

For all that are debating about 2 SEC teams playing each other in the BCSCG a local sports talk radio I listen to just stated it so clearly regarding this. The BCS doesn't care if you win your conference or if you played in your conference CG, they just want to put #1 against #2........period. Not saying I agree with the BCS system but I do agree with #1 vs #2, just a matter of who they are and getting there. Hell, they were even saying that if UGA beats LSU in the SECCG it could still wind up being LSU vs Bama. Now I can agree with Bama more than LSU in that scenario, but that's just my opinion.

Imagine this highly unlikely scenario....Auburn wins Saturday (Unlikely), LSU wins Saturday (Likely but who knows these days), Georgia defeats LSU in SEC Championship game (Hey, it could happen)...then who plays for all the marbles???

    This.

If we ever get to the point where there's a playoff in college football, then the conference champion qualification makes sense. SEC champ vs. Big 10 Champ, and Big 12 champ vs. PAC 12 Champ... winners play for it all. Something like that.

Until then, the BCS game is #1 vs #2. While it seems like there are various people saying "Nobody wants a rematch between Alabama and La State," reality indicates that plenty of people want it: Bama is #2 in every single poll (AP, Harris, USA Today). Seems like the voters pretty clearly think a rematch is the way to go.

If auburn wins, Alabama is a 2 loss team and is out of it. (Also, I'll jump out of a window to avoid listening to all the crap that would come along with that for the next year.)

La State wins Friday, but loses in the SECC, I doubt they fall below #2, so they're still in. (As we've already discussed in this thread, two teams have lost their championship game and still made it to the NC game since the BCS started.) La State would be the strongest one-loss team in the country at that point.

In this scenario, Arkansas is out b/c they've lost 2 (Bama and La State).

If Okie State beats OU, then it's probably them. I believe they'd be Big 12 champs. There's no championship game, b/c there aren't actually 12 teams in the conference.

If not, it could be Stanford, if they win out and win the PAC 12 championship... The national media seem to hang from Luck's nuts the way they hung from Cam's last year.

In that scenario, I'd put all of my money on the Mad Hatter, and the SEC would have 6 in a row.

That's a pretty likely scenario. I have to agree with ya there.

Just read that they are not going to protest this funeral (or the OSU Women's basketball coaches funeral), because a radio station is giving them 5 minutes of airtime.

    Those WBC people are horrible.

What about teams from the Big East, WAC, Moutain West, and Independents?

Are they not able to play for the national championship? I am okay with leaving Independents (mostly just Notre Dame) out

It was just a quick example. In a real system, it would probably have to be an 8-team playoff, w/ the champs from various conferences, plus at-large teams, much like the current BCS system.

They were talking about this on 680 the fan today on the Chuck and Chernoff show. They also said they couldn't see it with them two named as the candidates. They went on to talk about how the internet is bad about rumors and how the rest of the conference is pretty quiet right now as far as coaching changes and since Richt has been there longer it is just nature that people are spreading this around, being "his turn" as they put it. I don't believe it, but if it's true, I sure hope we go after a real coach. So many people like Dooley and he is the noble choice I guess but he hasn't shown sh*t as a head coach. I read on a forum somewhere that "a big name" coach was planning to leave but it was believed to be Spurrier.

Paul Johnson you are a mental giant....

"Georgia Tech football coach Paul Johnson apologized Tuesday night after referring to a caller to his radio show as a "retard."

The caller, who appeared to be a fan of the rival Georgia Bulldogs, reportedly said on air, "Hello? Hello?" and began barking before either hanging up or being cut off.

Johnson responded by saying, "Anybody who calls into a radio show and barks is either retarded or doesn't have a life."

I see the FOX Bowl guessers are being nice to Clemson....

    Discover Orange Bowl
    Jan. 4, Miami Gardens, Fla., 8 p.m.
ACC No. 1 vs. BCS at-large
    Projection: Clemson vs. West Virginia
Rationale: Throw a dart at the Big East standings, and you probably will hit the champion. West Virginia needs to win out and needs a Louisville loss at South Florida to get into the BCS.

CBS has Tech picked for this game...go figure.

    Orange Bowl[IMG]Jan. 4
    Miami, Fla.
    ACC vs. at-large
8 p.m. ET, ESPN[IMG]Comment: Virginia Tech is now projected as the ACC champion over Clemson. Louisville is now in the driver's seat to win the Big East and end up with the Orange Bowl's last selection.
