Goodyear Wrangler DURATRAC's

I've been running this size Duratrac for about 8 months without any issues on 100% stock suspension.

 

What psi are you guys running. Highway and offroad?

 

hmmmm. maybe I should have just gotten these to run all year round, instead of dedicated snow tires to run in the winter.

 

Depends on how heavy you are, but I would do the chalk test for on road pressure, then for offroad I have been running around 15-20 but I havent done too much crazy stuff yet.

 

I'm having a problem finding a place that has these in stock for a decent price. Low stock perhaps driving the cost up?

 

Look at post on the previous page, using all those rebates and that link to ebates I got them pretty cheap.

 

Ok let me check to see if my math is correct. Using tacocolin's links and discounts I can get a set of 265/75/16 duratracs load C for ~$592.

Here's how I got that price.
4 wheel parts has the tires for $192 piece.
771.96 for all 4.
5% off so $733.36
3.5% off the $733.36 = $707.69
$75 ($100, but $25 membership fee) from Treadlightly = $632.69
$40 for Goodyear rebate = $592.69

Not sure if there is tax in all of that, but hopefully my math is correct. If so, then these might be my next tire.

Yeah that's why I want to check my math. If so then these will be my next tires as they are $90 more than the treadwrights I was thinking of getting.

I just need to make sure the 3.5% discount was calculated correctly. Other than that all of the rest are correct. Not sure about tax though or if 4 wheel will price match Tirerack for the tires as $188, which will save another $18. Bringing the price to $574.40

 

For some reason people keep saying this size doesn't rub....and they are partially wrong.

If you have stock suspension and no lift they wont rub.

If you have aftermarket suspension and UCA's with added caster they will rub the mud flaps with the worst side being the passenger at about 2.6*. At 3.0* and higher they wont rub.

 

Ok I also checked Discount Tire and they are giving $50 off any 4 tires so without their total would be $587 to my door by price matching the Tirerack price. Or $548.16 to price match Tirecrawler.com. That's it I'm getting some tires.

 

Mmm.. load range C or load range E. Advantages / Disadvantages for the mostly highway driver and occasional wheeler?

 

Where did you get the 5% discount from? I see the ebates 3.5

 

At a very basic level...
C = cheaper, lighter weight, better mileage, less durable, lighter load range
E = more expensive, heavier weight, lower mileage, more durable, heavier load range

For our trucks, C is usually sufficient, especially with your stated usage habits (i.e., mostly highway).

 

E's are unnecessary for our trucks as their load ratings exceed the Tacoma's capabilities. Some Duratrac sizes only come in E, such as mine, but choose C if you have the option.

I have 30k on my C's and never had an issue with them, but I know someone who has C's and ripped through three sidewalls in about 10-20k.

For your needs I would go C. Mine held up fine at URE last year

 

lol. URE is the reason I'm dying for tires now. Last week I tore up one tire and damaged another to the point that I'm AMAZED it's still pressurized
