Hey guys, new to TW - this is my first post.

I have a few questions that I can't find the exact answers I'm looking for.

    First off - I have a 2008 sr5 access cab v6 4x4.

I'm looking to order some Billy's 5100 front struts (adjustable), and set them at the 2.5" setting.

In order to run 285/75r16 I understand that I need to do a cab mount chop, as well as some minor wheel well plastic trimming.

-If I were to buy some 305/70r16 tires, what size wheel spacers would I need to get? 1.25" or the 1.5" (Dont have money for new rims at the moment)
-Will these size tires fit on my stock rims? (I beleive they're 16x7, whatever the sr5's come with)
-Will I need new UCA's? Or could I just stick with my stock ones and udjust my Caster to 2.1 degrees?

I know I will have to trim alot from inside my wheel wells - including cab mount chop.

I apologize if these questions have been answered a number of times already, I just cant find them.

    Thanks!

People have fit them before. It just requires a lot more trimming. You'll need at least the 1.25" wheel spacers.

At the 2.5" setting, some need new uca's, some don't. It's hit or miss.

As far as the rim width question, the tire manufacturers website will list the approved rim sized for each of their tires sizes.

What if I go for the 3 inch coil overs, with some new UCA's?

From my experience with various trucks and cars, the amount of lift isn't going to be the biggest, 2-3 in should be just fine. It's gonna be the turning that is the problem. I'd go with some adjustable UCA's so you can center the tire in the fender and have good alignment and handling. Spacers, trim + chop, and possibly some bigger flares will be needed in order to turn the 305's. I would stay away from the stock wheels, they are only 7 in wide (the 305's are 12). You could probably do it, but it would look dumb because there would be 2.5 inches of tire bulge on each side.

Yea, it seems likes its not really worth it for an extra 3/4 of an inch wide. Thanks for the help!

Are new UCA's worth getting with the 2.5 lift and 285's?

I'm gonna say 7" width rim is a bit narrow but you CAN run it, doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

34s might be a bit of a squeeze. I'm only sitting at not even .5" higher than that with my 35s on 3" I had to cut a lot! (body mount/flares/fenders/ beat pinch weld and firewall pack.)

You can do it, not sure how the fenders will handle it but you can probably do it.

After you clearance, take your strut out, bolt everything back in place. Bolt wheel/tire back on. Jack up the LCA while turning the tire to see where you need to clearance and to see if you're gonna smash your flares. You might end up ripping them off if you stuff your tires. ??

    2” level, URD Short Shifter,
I run 305/70/r16 with a 2” level on my 2011 trd sport. I had to take out the fender liner and mud flaps but after they don’t rub at all. I don’t love how wide they are I’ll probably drop to 285s.
