WOW thats incredible. A very sad sight. I live in Chandler part time, almost bought a house up there, Just played golf at superstition mountain not too long ago.

    http://tvnz.co.nz/world-news/plane-crashes-into-mountain-in-arizona-4568273

There is a amazing video at the bottom. You can see a light move across the top half of the screen then make a explosion (00:54) When I fly from Mesa on Alligent they fly right over the mountain. Its almost impossible to get up there, must have been only able to use helicopters.

Yea, it says they dropped a handful of rescue people in via Heli. Doubtful there are any survivors. Makes me think probably a control failure, it is a multi engine turbo pro so even on one engine they should have been able to limp to safety one would think. Its not like superstition Mt is hard to miss and there is no adverse weather right now so...

Weather is not the only reason people fly perfectly good airplanes into terrain. Plenty hit while just tooling along at night. Now, it sounds like this was not a perfectly good airplane. If they had engine trouble, depending on the weight, they might not have been able to climb very well. Also, might have been preoccupied with dealing with the engine issue and not "flying" the airplane? I am NOT saying that is what happened..no one knows what happened yet.

    It is a tragic accident..tragic.

    TRD skid painted black,
The "news" reported they made no distress calls to indicate engine problems.
So many things could have happened.
    We may never know why.
Very sad indeed for all the family.

It sucks, horrible loss. But yea, it was also at night... kinda hard to see a mountain at night. You can hike to the top but it's about a 10mi one way grueling trail. My dad lives near the base also... they've had choppers going over it still last night

I use to work with the pilot when he flew for a major corporate aviation company. A good stick and not one that you would think would scud run in mountainous terrain. What a shame.[FONT=&quot]
