When i go offroading i am very specific about whats going on in my truck, i prefer no music on at all, with as little people in the back seat as possible, i keep my a/c off and use the windows to regulate the temperature. call me picky but it makes me comfy when im offroading and its just me.. im not all anal and talking and laughing and having a good time in the truck is fine while offroading

BUT one of my other offroading buddys could play his music as loud as possible with screaming and bouncing around in the car and it would not effect him in the slighest, he could care less whats going on in the car, A/C blasting heat or cold, no music, or music to loud to think. doesnt matter to him

so the question is... What's YOUR off-road atmosphere ???

If I'm doing slow thing were you need to be serious I'm more focus on the trail but if its a fun fire road or something easy to hall ass on I listen to some bumping beats.

I'm pretty similar to you. I like my windows down pretty much all the time unless its dusty, too cold, or raining/snowing.
Usually I dont have music playing unless its a boring section of trail that requires little effort. In the technical stuff, I like the quiet so I can hear the sounds the truck makes(helps to hear the exhaust so I dont stall, and also to hear if a rock shifts or something). I like talking to the passenger if there is one with me, but once again I dont really like to talk when i need to concentrate on the trail. I'm also picky with my lines, and dont always listen to or follow a spotter's directions... That way if I pick a bad line and mess up the truck, well its my fault and no one else had a part in it! lol

Windows down, back window open, so I can hear what is happening on the trail. If its cold, I turn on the heater, but the windows stay down.

If we are going slow, on a trail I have ran before, I may have the music on.

Same here. Except if its a good day, not to hot, not to cold, and I plan on running hard trails, I like to take off the doors. I like to listen to the music on the way to the trail and even on the trail if it is easy. But when the crawling begins, music off, windows down, dont screw with me because im in my zone. I dont mind having passengers if they wont make noises when there is a loud bang (hitting a rock with the slider) and they wont try to talk to me when im crawling. Other than that I like to have a good time.

Music on (unless I need to hear during something more technical)

Seat belt off (I know, dumb, but the bouncing of the rock crawling gets annoying with a stock seat belt)

    Beer in hand

in my taco i tend to keep the windows up to help minimize the dust from getting inside the cab, but they go down when in need of a spotter or if i have to stick my head out to line up for something. or, i just make my girlfriend get out and have her spot me while sitting inside with the A/C full blast haha. im at the point in the taco where im comfortable with playing music most of the time. the first year of being on the trails was like no music, and everyone shut the fuck up cuz im concentration on not flopping hahahah... i wasnt that bad tho:D.

in the MonkeyCrawler im bumping my music over just about everything. with the 3.4L swap, 39" Krawlers and a double t-case that sucker pretty much drives itself. i have no windows or doors on that thing so i can pretty much hear everything anyways. but i am ANAL about making sure everything is properly strapped down and that everything is in it's right place where it should be. it's like that for both of my trucks:cool:

I'm kind of new to 4Wheelin (just got my first 4x4 in January).
But I have a lot experience finding the right line from driving my 2wd Lowrider to cut and haul firewood.

Im pretty much the same way....I hate music while I am offroad.

One thing I hate more than anything is when your passenger takes it upon him/herself to mess with the radio even after you made a point to turn it off...WTF.....I AM DRIVING...GTFO...

    rant off//
