For real. And dont call the dad "ma'am".

As for dessert, go to the store and go buy one of those frozen Mrs Smith Apple pies. Bake it yourself. That will impress the mom. And don't call her "sir".

I dunno If I agree here with yah babytruck. If I were older, and a father of a daughter, I personally wouldnt want to see him bring over an apple pie he baked. Im all for cooking, but not baking an apple pie ahaha.

If it were me. (for real this time) Id call her mother beforehand. Thank her for inviting me to dinner and ask if there were anything I could bring to the meal.

Great idea, or if he can't call her, ask the girl to ask her mom, very clever, brownie points with the mom, smart!

Oh and on a side note. If this goes on and you two get more serious. You know her mom approves of you when she walks up to you cuddling with her daughter and she tells you a super comfy way to cuddle on their couch.. true story.

your truck should be SUPER clean inside and out and parked within sight. IF he brings up the fact that your truck is a Toyota just tell him it is made right here in California, BY Californians, and you like supporting American workers. If he says "why not ford?" just say they moved their production to Mexico a few years ago and leave it at that. DO NOT go into a reliability argument or discussion as he may take offense.

There's good advice here, in 2-7, but I'm not a fan of 1 as written.

x2! As another "old school American guy, really conservative dude that can be a strict parent," I assure you this is GOOD advice! Since it sounds like her folks' conservatism worries you, I suggest you avoid political discussions if at all possible.

This is also a GOOD suggestion, not to mention the only mod I recommend for babytruck's "to do" list.

I just wanna know who the f refuses to put a label on a relationship before parents are met

Coming from someone who's never had a parent NOT like them...I TRY to resist meeting them until an established relationship is in place

After that I'm polite and respectful...i've never brought anything to dinner (but ive offered to pay when at a restaurant) and i've never had a dad pull out guns to try and scare me...ive had parents who let me sleep at their house, offered me their car, buy me christmas gifts etc

Just don't be a jackass, and don't do anything to insinuate that you will be defiling their daughter later on that night...and holding hands and arm around her is not forbidden but it either has to be initiated by her or very very casual
