ok nows that out of the way ive got rubbing issues... i have a 99 sr5 4x4 taco. about 3 monoths ago i installed a 3" coilover toytec spacer lift with 1.5" block in rear with brand new procomp shocks on all four with 285/75/16 with procomp black out steel rims. the rear is perfect i hit my tamberiens before my tires touch any part of my truck.

But the front is completly screwy. Even if i turn too much while im on flat ground my tires rub the inside black plastic part of fender. ive trimed out the metal that behind the inside black plastic so its not fing up my tire but everyone can hear it if i turn to much and not to mention it messing up my inside fender. its loud. and that not even offroading.

any suggestions?

 

with that size tire, depending what wheels you are running, you are likely rubbing on the frame as well as body...

to keep the tire away from the frame, you want to try for a 4" backspace wheel...

to clear the body a little better, you could have your caster moved 1.5 to 2 degrees forward...

ideally, you want to be over 3" lift up front to avoid a lot of rub, but for the lift you have, your best bet is to keep trimming and pound down or grind the pinch weld...

 

ya im running procomp 15x8 with 3.75" bs and im pretty sure im not rubing the frame....

 

oh and going over 3" up front would give me issues with my cv boots and i hate working on my cv crap...

 

yah, that's too little of backspace... you are rubbing on body and pinch weld, but no amount of trimming will help much...

you could remove your front lower valance to clear the front, but the rear part, the pinch weld and the fender is going to be a challenge...

if you swap out your stock fenders for some fiberglass fenders, it will help quite a bit...

On a serious note, if you're not willing to go up your next step is fabrication. Cut, trim, pound, weld, and cut some more until the tire doesn't hit anything.

 

thanks for the info man but trust me im not rubbing on my frame. if i was i the evidence would be on the frame or more likely the tire.... nevermind ill just take care of this one by myself thanks

 

hey im thinking about repainting my truck (same color) and was considering get some fiberglass fenders. does anyone know how much the front two fenders would cost me?
