Not sure on new tire size?

I am getting new tires. Not exactly sure which ones yet but getting closer to a decision. Analysis Paralysis strikes again...lol

I am currently running 265/65/17's on my 09 tacaoma 4 door 4wd shortbed....

Should I get the same size or something different like 265/70/17's???

Driving will be dirt roads and highway...

Go with the 265/70R17.

 

+1 Most people report that their speedometer mostly evens out once they go to this size.

I went with P265/70/17 in a DynaPro ATM.
Haven't run them yet but the tire looks very good with an open tread design that should shed gravel well. I hate picking up rocks in tight tread designs.
It also has a center rib which should help to keep noise down.

It's a 38 lb tire which should be easy on my 2.7
The only other choice for me was 255/75/17 which is a little larger diameter and a little more weight.

i have a 1st gen and i picked up a set of 265/70/17 a few months ago and now i wish i would have waited and gotten 285/70/17 instead. if you don't plan to lift the truck much, get 265/70/17. it looks great on a stock height tacoma.
