    Hello all,

New to the site and new to Tacoma. Have always had Land Cruisers and Tundras still do but excited to build a new 12 Crew, TRD 4x4 and I have a few questions as truck is 4 to 6 weeks out by order:

First are the 12's considered a 2nd generation or 3rd?

I need opinions on my initial parts list. My Toyota dealership will deliver it complete.

    Camper top color match Leer

    Bed Rug

    3" lift (which brand)

    Wheels (been looking at Rockstars)

    Nitto Terra Graplers 33s

    Factory oval black running boards

I'm amazed how many options there are on all these product categories so I want to listen to the folks that have been there. Truck is Silver if anyone has one similar to this build please post photo so I can get an idea.

    Thanks so much

2012 is still considered a 2nd generation. as far as those parts go, you can probably get them much cheaper somewhere else.

Make sure you are getting the items from the dealership and not some relationship the salesman has. If its from the dealership and you have a problem you can ask them to fix it. If its from the salesman, he is stealing from the dealer and they might not cover the items.

I have found sometimes You can get really good deals on aftermarket items from the dealer. E.g. I got tint on a car I bought for $50

Thanks for the input! A friend of mine owns the Toyota/Lexus dealer and all I need to do is get a parts list together and I will order the parts and they will install for me. His top Toyota truck mechanic spent years in the off road market and is a 4Runner/Tacoma guy himself. I'm just stuck getting my parts lists. Thanks
