Sick sounds, lock box center console... Now I have a "lockable container." Alarm system... canopy and more coming.
New to the forum but got lots of experience with mods and vehicles... especially tunes. I found a $10 solution to the factory glove box problem. Now i have a lockable container! Also got some great tunes ideas. Currently have the least expensive yet most sound productive system IMO. 2 amps, 2 subs... one 8" JBL and one 12" Fosgate P3 shallow mount in a RF factory enclosure. 1600 watts and protected with a sick alarm system and home surveillance lol. Dogs and snipers too! Jk... If you have any questions other than suspension upgrades, been there done it at the lowest possible cost without looking or sounding "cheap." I learned from my rice burner days that you can't always have your cake without paying for it, but I've found cheaper ways.

Go to a 4x4 store and buy a luggage lock and key set. Looks like a simple key slot that comes in different depths. Is designed for glove boxes or hard luggage. I'll try to upload photos from my phone. Takes 10 minutes to install DIY. Had to use the center console box though. Didn't want to mess with the glove box because it requires drilling a hole.

Here are some photos... My first time uploading images here. The lock system is a "CAMCO Baggage door lock 5/8th offset." On the back of the package it says www.camco.net. Sorry if the images aren't that great, not a good camera on my phone. Again, I got this from a 4x4 and RV specialty store in Olympia Washington. I'm sure you can get them on the web for cheaper. If you drill below the bump on the inside of the compartment below the catch, the steel lever will fit perfectly behind the button that opens the compartment creating a "stopper." You won't be able to open the compartment without breaking it. Same as a glove box. This should keep "po-po" from having direct access... just sayin. In my state, unless it's a "locked container" the po have access during a search. Hope this helps the 2nd amendment folks, lol.

I really need to upgrade my sound system too. How much did it cost you to upgrade yours? Welcome and I'm just down the road from you.

I know, tough call... yours to make. Plastic is easy, leather is too, but if you mess up then it's not a cheap fix.

It's a DIY so try at your own risk. If you pay a specialty store, they assume the risk... that's where I'd go if I was concerned.

I spent more than needed only because I had the money. For about 700, you could have a decent system, for a grand as really decent system. It depends on how much around you're really wanting. What are you looking for? Poor man's BOSE? Or competition?
