Installed the Homertaco grill (Thanks Craig!) on Saturday. Apologies for the poor lighting on this picture. I need to get more pix during the day.




You may be able to see that it's the M1 mesh, plus I added some lettering for the Toyota logo.

I did run into a problem where I cracked one of the replacement grill clip mounts. The crack happened pretty easily. I don't think that the quality of the plastic in the replacement grill is quite as good as the original -- it's not uncommon, so I should have been more careful. At any rate, to get around the problem I ended up drilling a small hole in the grill mount and used a zip tie to hold it in place.



If I had only done the grill, it would have taken me 15 minutes to install (or 30 to work around the broken clip mount. Instead, I also chose to install the lower bumper as well.

Looks good. My only advice is to paint the radiators and supports behind it black. Looks a lot cleaner when you don't see any silver behind them.

 

All i want for Christmas is a satoshi.

Quick Update:
Here is the current batch:

4 Thin-Lip Satoshi's
1 Reduced Depth Satoshi
4 Regular Satoshi's
and one of my flush mount grill frames is also pictured.

I realized that I can do a few more at a shot if I reorganized my shop so I increased the batch size this time.
Also one of the thin-lips is a one-off TRD Grill.
I expect to have all of the outer surrounds back by the end of next week. Then they will all be assembled & shipped out the week of 12/5 if all goes as planned.
PM's will go out for the next batch that weekend and that will be the last one that gets done before the Christmas/New Years Holiday.
I plan on taking the week between the two off from HD & spend time with the kiddos!

I am interested in getting one of your awesome grills. I see your wait list is pretty long. Probably will be a few months before I would get one huh? I'll pm you later tonight. Still deciding which mesh. Problably go with a M4 super white thin lip satoshi.

OK.....here's mine that Craig made. Only, since I can't leave anything alone.....I had to slightly customize it. I use my truck (partially) for my Porsche restoration hobby and the Red inner grill mimics the new Porsche GT3RS front grill. Within minutes after buying the truck 3 months ago, I removed all of the Toyota emblems and replaced them with Porsche crests. I crack up at the people almost running off the road trying to figure out what the heck they are looking at......a Porsche pick-up!!!!!

Homer, you should quit your job at Home Depot and do this full time. You are awesome at it. I wish my ARB bumper didn't block the grill or I would already have one. Keep up the good work.
