So this weekend my buddy Spezzy and I decided to have our own mod weekend. He had some All-Pro leaf springs to install, and I had some painting/mechanical inspecting to do.

We started the first day like any other, being well stocked on brews.

Got the truck parked in our buddies garage.

Broke up a couple pallets so we had wood to make up for the lack of jack height.

Starting with jacking up the body, we found out we weren't going to have enough lift to take the load off the springs so we wound up jacking up the rear axle as well.

My beer being broken, and being mostly useless at this point I proceeded to fix my broken beer and continue watching all the work get done.

The focus of the day's mods.

    Gett'n the U-bolts off...

Taking full credit for this idea, we (they) ran into some issues pushing the spring down. After much careful thought...well...you get the idea...

    And the final product!

Yes, we do realize that there are no bump stops.

So now onto my truck. Come the next day it was time to lay down some paint!

First item up was the grille. The silver was breaking up the black/black look, and my devil horns were looking too faded for my liking.

Then I moved onto my faded bush whackers.

And after a short days worth of work...

It was a fun weekend. Had I not been so distracted by beer then I would have taken more pictures. As always thanks for checking out the build.

Right now my truck sits in the back of my best friends house next to his 4Runner, and my other friend's Taco, and I'm intoxicated slightly. I am motivated to go wheeling tomorrow and make a kick ass video. I want to get a day light race caught on tape of me smoking a V6 4x4 in the open desert. Why? Cause I've already done it, and because 4cyl 2wd's are the shit!

    / drunk rant.

Thanks man. Your truck is going to looks sweet with that color once you get glass. Check out those black friday sales man. Rough times these days I know (I'm feeling it too now, thank god my truck is paid off), but if you can squeeze out fenders, even uncolored matched, it's gonna look tits. LT your whole truck :D like a baws.

Due to my camera man not noticing that the camera settings were not correct for the lighting 95% of the pictures came out like ass. After some hardcore editing, these are the few that I got worth showing.

after finishing the fun little speed course that leads to the lake bed, and waiting for the V6's to catch up ( :p ) I managed to snap what I think is a pretty cool picture of Pacman 4runner, and Spezzy.

Obviously you know the out come of the drag race between spezzy and I by now. That course is some tight switch backs in some real soft stuff. There's enough strait away between each turn to get up to like 40-50 before you have to down shift and cut. I'm sure if someone were to take those corners in 4hi they would eat them up. More fun to slide around though :D
Thanks man. The better shots of me going UP things came out like shit, and they're barely recoverable. Figures any evidence that I can manage some larger obstacles is un recognizable

Well Id try It in 2hi.. Im pretty confident In my high speed 2wheel drive driving. Lol. Now with the rear locked.. its a WHOLE other ball game.. its sooo much fun with it locked In 2.. just slides around everywhere.

But its less of the 2wd vs 4wd and more of the 4 vs 6 :)
