    Apparently.
Last night the wife and I and her parents were sitting watching tv. The doorbell rang. I went to open the door and when I did there was a kid bent down looking like he was tying his shoe on my sidewalk. When I opened the door, I was gonna ask him what he needed, but he was sitting there motionless. Well, my in laws dog tried getting out the door, and the kid jumped up and took off running. He ran around the corner where his friend was also. they continued running down the street. I yelled at them that next time I was gonna call the cops. The yelled something profane back, not sure what. So I yelled back he should come back and say that to my face. And of course they just kept walking. so I called the cops, they came and drove around the neighborhood. About half an hour later, I was downstairs playing mw3, and the wife says they knocked on the door and ran away again. So we go outside to look and as we look down the street I hear a kid hiding, and when he saw me look at him he took off running. Well, I saw him run down the street and down another street. There's only 8 houses on that street. So I jumped in my truck, and went down there looking to see if I could find a kid hiding or something. Well, as i drive down, I see a kid that looks kind of like one of them looking out the front window. So I whipped a uturn and knocked on the door. Some older kid answered the door and I asked if he knew who on the street had kids. He said the only ones he knew of was a girl in another house. but as i was leaving he asked what they were wearing, if they were boys or girls. I said boys wearing red and black. Then he said, "well it couldn't have been my dads girlfriends kid then cause he's wearing all white"
I think that I had the right house. LOL. I had told them I wanted to know which houses had kids on that street so i could let the cops know, so they knew which houses to watch.

So The wife is all worried that these kids are gonna vandalize the house. They didn't do anything last night, and tonight I put a sticker on the front door right by the doorbell that says "Smile, your on camera" Thought that maybe that would be a deterrent for them.

I think however that me going to that house and stating that I was looking for the houses with kids, so I could tell the cops, that may have scared the kid too.
If things start getting vandalized, I will definitely be putting up some cameras that do motion detect and infrared to catch who does it.

Smile your on camera? Even more reason to knock and run.

Wait in hiding, when the kids come up to the door, jump out and ram his head into the wall.

    Be a man.

Yeah, the wife and i have decided that from now on we aren't answering the door after dark. Its supposed to get cold here tomorrow, whereas last night it was warm enough to be walking around in shorts. So I assume the kids will go back to playing video games and being inside till spring. Hopefully once spring comes, they will forgot all about it.
Like I said, were just gonna not give them the satisfaction of getting a response, and just not going to answer the door after dark.

I am. I'm 34 years old. I'm not gonna get arrested for doing something to some stupid 13-14 year old kid.

Yep. that's what we decided too, especially after my father in law said he used to do it when he was a kid, and they would only do it to houses that they would get a reaction out of.
