Nice new scratch

So I got this huge scratch on the back left corner above the tail light. 1 month old truck. No idea where it came from. I presume it was my roommate trying to move it. Its about just the right height to even out with the mailbox. Anyhow. Anyone know a good way to fix it? I tried to "touch it up". Even doing that though it doesnt look too hot. How much you think it would cost to have it done? Does that mean a place would have to repaint the whole side portion? Good times, good times!

 

A cool sticker/graphic might do the trick.

In my experience, they'll have to repaint the whole bit. That's a shame... I live in LA and I know that it's only a matter of time before little dings and scratches start showing up when I've left the car parked.

 

Don't worry about your roomate. I backed into my garage (had it for about a month and a half) and went a little wee to far. Got a slight scrath, 4-5 inches or so, and busted my taillight. I was royally upset..went to Toyota right away to get fixed....now anytime I back up anywhere, my wife is making sure I do it right..i am actually grateful for her help

 

These guys are not easy to back up

I've got the 07 DC with the short bed... very hard to judge when parallel parking or even just backing into a parking space... I'm coming from a sports coupe granted, but whenever I drove my buddies' trucks (Chevy Silverado and Nissan Titan) you can see the rear bumper in the side mirrors which gives you a great point of reference. Now it's the middle of the rear fender and mentally add on a couple feet

 

I have found backing my '07 DC challenging as well. I tried to parallel park this weekend with traffic waiting on me ...... finally gave up.

 

well you can have it buffed or purchase one of those products that they sell on speed.com check out the TW store to see what we have. sorry to hear that hope this helps.

 

I know what your saying...
When I first started dating my wife she had a 3/4 Chevy Silverado extended cab, long bed. Going from my little Saturn to parking that was a pain!!!
I'll have to say that the Tacoma is a breeze to park compared to that old beast.
My wife still over turns and can't park the Tacoma straight, she is still used to maneuvering a larger truck.
