Welcome. Hardest part is getting EVERYONE to commit. We had everyone from the president on down agree to it. Once we implemented it, I was amazed at actually having meetings that accomplished something. And for once, the non-management employees actually get to have a say in something and it's good morale booster. And I know you know this, people who actually "do" the job - have some the best solutions to problems and great ideas on how to stream-line things.

For a small fee... I'll come up teach all of yas. And I want that first-aid bitch's job too.

 

I couldn't have said it better myself, people on the ground level are the ones dealing with the shit. FOR INSTANCE, did you know that because of our massive headache system of dealing with purchasing for special projects. I had to order a 49$ part, just 49$ and about 10$ for shipping, I would guess between me, my boss, the purchasing lady, and her boss for final approval. I would estimate over 3000$ worth of man-hours, AND 5 FUCKING DAYS for me waiting for all the processes to approve it, was wasted.

I actually just told my boss to give me a company credit card so I could make special orders easier and he 100% agrees but HIS boss doesn't because of my level in the company. Stupid BS like this I deal with

Also, I should mention that after all that wasted time, the wrong part came in because the purchasing lady has no idea the gear we work with cause she just deals with numbers on paper, and ordered a part similar to what I asked for because thats what she thought I meant, so after waiting 2 weeks for arrival + the 5 days approval time we now have to wait ANOTHER 2 weeks for actual part to arrive

 

You're work is EXACTLY how my work was. And what's hilarious is doing the flow charting process. That's usually the point where people feel dumb for having things done a certain way. They need to get in the mind set that what they do isn't for THEM, it's for someone else. Everyone's job affects everyone. If I was your consultant, your exact issue would be a prime simple problem to start with.

I looked at the Pheonix Heli (I can't believe it's spelled like that) but I didn't see where they had job postings. Looked more like advertising for people to use them. I don't remember you mentioning St John's.

 

OMG!!!! You are making me have an urge to buy a plane ticket and bring my lean books up there.

 

St. Johns teaches the First aid courses up here and most of the places across Canada I believe.
